Magic? I'm not convinced

Class player, class technique class finishing. Simple as that

 

Alot of people have came out with my world class comment. I said his finishing is world class. Not his over all play.

 

henrik,sutton and bellamy , all great players but who this season was better than magic ?

Don't quite see how you can be unconvinced about Magic, having overcome a bad start to his Celtic career, a few nasty injuries he has been tremendous for us. As for the lazy comment, don't understand that at all, when he's up front with Hartson all he does is run all the time. He's been outstanding.

 

i meant outside of celtic ! im a big fan of magic , my post was aimed at the guy who keeps slating him.

This guy must be a hun at the wind up, 20 goals in 27 games is an immense record. The guy has been a superb signing for us

 

Ha ha, cannae keep going round this. I questioned his work rate and his touch. I stand by that. All i have heard is his goal record in defence, okay, how do you all rate Kris Boyd? Or Nacho Novo (based on last few seasons form)? I think Magic is a decent finisher as his goal ratio suggests but no better. I don't think he'd have got a regular game in any of the last 5 seasons. I would keep him as an option but would prefer a better all round striker as first choice. I'm amazed at the reaction really when other threads slag people who've acheived wonderful things for us like Lenny, Balde and Hartson without reply - everyone takes them for granted i suppose.

 

Magic has had an excellent first season here. His scoring rate to games played is excellent, his work rate is good and he gives us another dimension to our play. I'm suprised you don't rate him but you can't please everyone.

 

Magic is in the same boat as all last seasons signings and Strachan, we're aiming to make and impact in the CL and our success in that competition next year will be the deciding factor in terms of how convincing they've been.

 

Indeed. But you must have an opinion on them all -
Boruc - Great start, few mishaps lately but decent overall
Mo - Looked a wholehearted player to me, i'd keep him as back up
Telfer - Stop gap signing
Virgo - Doesn't look any better for reserves than Cuthbert
Wilson - Great promise
Naka - Touch of class but lack of physical element
Keane - Presence, quality. More to come i hope
Magic - Can't argue with goals but...

Of course it is not my real opinion but it shows the obvious fact that every fan has his fav players and players he likes less than others...

it looks like you just simply don't like Zurawski... I can bet even if he will score 40 goals next season you'll still don't like him...

 

I would keep him, i think he offers a goal threat, not my kind of striker thats all. You obviously have seen more of him prior to this season and if you think he is not playing to his potential then my opinion may change when he does, who knows?

He's not World Class apparently because we did not pay some ridiculous amount of money on him as some did with a Big Pudding like Drogba!! £2.5 Million for me will do.

Agree with most of what you say except for Magic, for me his work rate is top class as i hate lazy players. I believe his movement is good and i think his all round game will improve if we field our best central midfield partnership in Keane and Petrov, they need to play together more. Lennon is so negative in his play a striker could run a maraton and not get a pass. Wilson is not a left leg for long raking passes. He is a right back. Telfer is Div 1 quality and GS's buddy.



Boruc - Great start, few mishaps lately but decent overall -Good keeper.
Mo - Not for GS, will be shipped out, i agree with this.
Telfer - Has a year left in his contract, don't know how we will get rid of him, GS loves him.
Virgo - Not even Reserve quality
Wilson - Great promise and should be playing right back.
Naka - Touch of class but lack of physical element - Have we got a gym with a weights room a little body building would not go astray.
Keane - Presence, quality. World class for last 10 years and still is. How many Celtic players were Real Madrid after this season and how many would choose Celtic over Madrid for 1/4 the Money, A *!
Magic - Class act, goals , work rate and movement imo.
Dublin - Has to go, no more of these signings please.

Looking forward to summer signings and getting rid of the dead wood. We will need a bigger squad for next year though, with CL parmount.
