It was a horrific murder. Clearly committed by an evil * but I’m not convinced it was Mitchell.
He’s served over half his life in prison now which is shocking if he’s innocent like he claims.

Yeah, pretty shocking some of the stuff they have brought up there.
Even if he was guilty, the case against him is borderline negligent.

It’s surprising that there is absolutely no forensic evidence against him though.
The documentary was clearly biased in his favour but I’m assuming there must be good reason for the police to be sure it was him.

Aye the lack of forensic evidence would always be a concern, but you look at the extent of her injuries, they would suggest that this was a personal attack by someone close to her, why would a stranger go to those lengths ?

Don't know the details of the case tbh, looks like he was convicted on strong circumstancial evidence.

I thought the Doc itself was poor, everyone involved had to go along with the narrative that he is innocent, there was no balance or proper look at the details of the crime itself, the 2 private detectives jusr came across as media whores.

Yeah that's a very good point and something that jumped out, I am hoping the second part gives a bit more balance.

May be wrong here but i suspect they won't have the smoking gun evidence that would prove that someone else did it, if so he would already be out by now.

I've seen this type of documentary making before, really it just amounts to an attempt to cobble together programmes that put forward a case for the defence, i'm pretty sure the prosecution could do the same, just as they do in a court of law.

If there has been a true miscarriage of justice here then i think it deserves to be looked at in a proper manner rather than what would appear to be a cheap gimmick of a documentary that amounts to nothing more than guesswork and suggestion.

In any crime Jeannie you always have to look at motive, could it be possible that a stranger appeared from nowhere in that particular area and inflicted that amount of injuries on her ?

I suppose it is possible but highly unlikely.

I’d be interested in whoever’s dna was all over the crime scene :39:.
The used condom might have been worth looking at since it was found close to the body.

The guy gave an account to the 2 private detectives that he saw him with scratches on his face and he told him about the lassies murder, asked if he had anything to do with it, if that was the case why didn't he contact the police at the time ?

It's also convenient that the guy is dead.

I was wondering if it belonged to the junkie guy although according to the story he was out of his face with loads of drugs.
