For me, if we don’t get the new centre mid a lot of folk would like us to sign this summer, I won’t be overly gutted. There are other positions needing money spent on them, and I’d seriously consider using Connell and Shaw as the backup pair to McGregor and Soro, with one of Robertson and Henderson in reserve, and the other sent on loan at a decent level.

Why didn't we give him a chance.for the remaining dead rubbers of the season, rather than loaning a boy from Everton as a stop-gap?

The way we destroy our academy prospects confidence without even giving them a chance, is honking.

As terrible as this season has been the fact we were out of the running so early in the season gave us a unique opportunity to blood our younger players.

What did Lennon and latterly Kennedy do? The exact opposite :99:

He could be mate he’s a young boy, seen plenty young talented players end up diddy’s.

He’s showing the right mentality for me though, which is sometimes more important than the actual ability.

He should be gluing himsel to Calmac in training and learning all he can off of him.

"bad attitude" is the go to term when a youth player is being thrown to the wolves.
Because obviously it is never the fault of poor management refusing to give a fair chance to help develop these sort of players.

Karamoko Dembele definitely does have a bad attitude though, who I think this is probably aimed a bit more at?

I've picked the conversation up wrong, I thought you were talking about O'Connor and Connell as well. My bad.

More so at Dembele yeah, who I dont doubt has developed a bit of an attitude, but judging by how the lad was hyped and how * poor we are at developing talent, I don't blame the lad at all for hitting a brick wall and being given zero opportunities by Lennon in the last 2 seasons. I'd be * livid as well.

But even then, "attitude" has been tossed out to suggest others as well, for them not getting the deserved first team exposure.

lol I won a 5 a sides up in the falls park..

I would like to see him do well and he has potential - but surely we need players with experience to hit the ground running - otherwise when we get to European qualifiers the same old * happens and we get schooled.

let us not fool ourselves this team needs a complete new spine from keeper to striker - a massive project one which we haven't required for the last 5/6 years.

I believe a lot of our problems stem from the midfield - in many aspects they team that can dominate and win the midfield area in game and control the tempo and speed can strongly impact and influence the game.

if anyone thinks soro, McGregor and turnbull are the answer is mad - the can be part of the squad and step up when required etc but we need physical power, height, muscle and energy in the centre of the team to dictate play, play direct and play smart.

This is a massive project for any incoming manager - and a scary challenge at that!

name me 3 celtic games this season we actually enjoyed and was proud to watch?! - a few games we had strong 45 mins but nothing sticks out in my head in which I wanted to clap the players of the pitch - many of these players don't know what it means to wear the green and white hoops

    how can you tell that?

can you remember the school teacher you hated - I would imagine many players feel that way. for any good club you need to feel the love and I don't get that from eddie, griff, ajeti, Frimpong etc etc towards kennedy and lennon and co.

with any good coach or manager you just see how players react around them..

I can recall looking at pep when he was talking to his players straight after a game on the pitch, he was still trying to coach them on the pitch show them things they could have done to improve - players thrive on that, they get to training early, they want to stay behind and impress - until we get that culture back at the club is only when we will start to see success on the pitch!

dembele has talent in abundance - he has that extra factor which is uncoachable - we need a good coach to tap into that, know how to handle him and how to play and integrate him into the team. there is a diamond with him, it is up to the coach / manager who had a duty to chisel away to tap into that diamond.

the players need a new face asap they have no hope, lost their passion and zing, and I bet many players would change overnight in terms of reactions etc.

I think the lad is * off, ive seen him play plenty of times - he must look at senior players and think they are keek fs of course it would do your head in, he then looks at the likes of Rodgers and pep and England int trainings and then the type of training at celtic - of course you would feel like your are going backwards.

I cant understand, well I can actually... at the start of the season we should send out young players on a 6 mth loan to suitable clubs - the same way we did with Christie, mc gregor and ajer etc. a pathway to the first team - the kind of role harkin does at city but as we are so cocktail stick in a sugar bowl mentality they players are frustrated.

the coaching setup is costing us on the pitch and our best youth players coming through.

total overhaul needed inside the club - fresh people, fresh ideas, investment required

Next pre-season will be interesting. I agree he has something so will be interesting to see if he gets a look in pre-season with the new manager.

Really, really hoping to see a midfield consisting of Connell, Turnbull and McGregor next season. I think a great coach could produce something special with that midfield 3.
