Absolutely crazy decision.

I think he is good enough to play a part but they clearly don’t think he is ready.

What’s the point in keeping him here and stalling his development when he could be out playing every week hopefully somewhere else here in the top division in Scotland?

Should have sent him to Motherwell for the season as part of the Turnbull deal. Either that or Hibs or Dundee Utd for example.

 

Come to Celtic, you'll get first team chances.
May need to sit you in the reserves for a bit while you adapt to our game and style, but come on up lads.

Something else on your mind? What is the reserve league setup for getting game time? Non-existant.

And right now when we can only assume (safely) that ntcham was one of the players Lennon alluded to not wanting to be here two months ago...low and behold ntcham keeps getting game time and this lad is shunned.

Very critical of our management of youth players, but this season I would make an exception. But ye Lee O'Connor would have played at least Europa League or league cup at United but he came to Celtic and now is at tranmere that in itself isn't my issue, it's the overall management of a whole load of players .. take Barry coffey for example. I like him as an 8/10. Lovely pace of playing and scores goals but what has he actually done since march? How did we not get him out somewhere on loan?

Our handling of youth players in the main is poor, when you hear Tierney’s story it was very lucky he got his chance and then was sold for near £25m.

Our youth teams don’t even have a league or structure they play in which isn’t all the clubs fault but alternative methods to give the best chance of development should be explored.

Genuinely, if guys like O’Connor with the pedigree he comes with or Connell actually can’t displace some of those playing just now then why even sign them in the first place as they won’t get better in our reserves or on substandard loans.

We don’t seem very strategic about anything we do theses days.

 

Pretty sure he is not in Europe squad

 

Buy a young player, let them rot.

See if Lennon had some common sense he would start to promote these young players and those on the fringes of the first team.

It’s simple - if you’re not getting the desired performances and levels of effort out of your first team players, then you’ve got to change it up and give a chance to those waiting in the wings.

 

Connell and Harper should be in the team for Ross County at the weekend. A good performance from one or both could be a good spark for the team. If we can’t put Harper in just now when we have no fit right winger then when can he get a chance?

 

Lennys named 2 keepers on the bench tonight... more chance of me being named in the squad than what you’ve rightly suggested

 

Totally agree with you, Connell isn’t in the Europa squad but noticeable that Soro isn’t even making the bench now too.

We have a manager who hasn’t got a clue what he’s doing and plays the same players over and over despite them being in horrendous form.

 

After watching some fringe players do very well tonight,this bhoy deserves his chance aswell

 

Lord knows what he will need to do to get in the picture, but the lads done well tonight should surely provide food for thought that others like connell deserve a look in again as well. Would rather see this lad be a sub replacement for McGregor than brown at this stage.

Ball was moved quickly in the centre of the park tonight,love Broony but he’s at the end now,fine for bringing on,to see out games but defo shouldn’t be starting now,Connell looks a proper player,so deserves an opportunity imo

 

These youngsters not getting a first team opportunity will dissuade others from coming here
