Yeah Zefi. When Desmond was getting more involved at Rovers I feared for the worst. I think Zefi and Ferguson at Bohs are potential generational talents, have done for a couple of years. As an Irish Celtic fan to be terrified they go to Celtic is not a good look haha I think Zefi will go to Holland or Germany. Has been at PSV. There is talk Ferguson will end up in Germany too, maybe follow Rose to Schalke. Ferguson was going to become like the 9th Irish lad at Brighton who are actively picking up our best talents but Brexit ended that as he wont be of age to sign before new rules.

O’Connor isn’t getting in over frimpong now no chance. O’Connor will end up at a championship team, Same as afolabi and I reckon that’ll be their levels. Making the jump from u21 isn’t always easy and not many players stay at a good level consistently

Not a chance , you are entitled to your opinion but Lee oconnor will be an established prem player. Not saying he should be starting but he should be in around the first team now, if he has to go out on loan so be it but it's criminal that a senior international at Celtic is sitting at home because he can't get even training with the first team . But if frimpong and elhamed both get injured Lenny will be scouring mediocrity down in the championship for a panic loan i.e a Bauer type

So 1 game at international level means he should be starting for Celtic?:56: I trust Lenny's judgement on whether players are ready or not, do you watch him everyday in training? Nope, so just settle down, we have a squad full of quality and he'll get his chance at some stage just like Connell.

Frimpong is levels above O'Connor at the same age and Hatem when fit is our best right back. The issue isn't if he's ready or not it's getting enough game time which he wont unless he goes on loan.

He played at international level because he is so highly regarded as a youngster amongst a golden generation of youngsters including by Martin O'Neill who I wouldn't be suprised if he suggested him to Celtic. He's entitled to question why a serious talent is no way considered or even training with the first team. I don't know what training he could be at the reserves have been off for the last 4 months

I am not saying he should be in the team over Frimpong or starting at all. I am saying it is a joke he isn't even training with the 1st team. I don't think he will go out on loan I think he will leave. I just think it is a shame. I have seen the kid play years. He was ahead of everyone else when he moved to Celtic. I don't think Celtic fans realise just how highly he was regarded. He wasn't a potential international like Coffey or Afolabi., we don't expect them to make it at top level he was fully expected to replace Seamus Coleman in the next couple of years.
I have heard numerous people in the game here and England talk about it and how shocked they are at him being farmed to Thistle too and not even training with the 1st team. Celtic's rep has taken a huge hit over the last year or so. Ireland has a tonne of players coming through and I hoped Celtic might be an ideal place for some more of them. Players from the England won't want up there now either.

He’s not a senior international tho really after 1 game is he pal. You’re not calling for hazard to be given game time cos he’s a senior international too? I actually believe being a championship level player is a good level. Not many players can say they’ve played that level and above all their life’s. I imagine he may have 1 season in the prem for a lower side eventually. But it’ll be short lived. Frimpong will go on to play for a top 10 team after us. O’connor won’t...and that’s the position they’re both fighting for.

I would love all our youngsters to make it big, but unfortunately some just don’t make the step up. It’s up to O’Connor to show this.

I'm not reading about it I am hearing about what is going on up there.(one person involved in Healy and Miller going to Celtic) I think top half Championship level is above scottish prem level. The Irish under 21's and 19's 17's are challenging for Euros. That 21's team is among the best in Europe and it is clear in England they are regarded as such because the amount making PL debuts and players fighting promotion from the Championship as regulars. He was regarded as a cert in that team to make it. The 2 who made the step up were Aaron Connolly and O' Connor. Sorry but in terms of potential and Ceiling that is well above the level to be TRAINING with the first team in * Scotland. Sending him to Thistle is malpractice levels.

Healy and Miller was quite some time ago.. Longtime to have your finger on the pulse..

Anyway why not debate it in his actual thread and keep poor Luca out of it.

Personally think O'Connor will be better than frimpong in time but that's just my personal opinion, everyone loves frimpong as do I. I also am not saying O'Connor should be starting or anything I just think he should be training with the squad just like Welsh connell Robertson etc are, I also agree it's a bit disingenuous to suggest O'Connor is an international footballer he did get a token friendly game that said it's just an example of how he is thought of within fai circles that he got that ahead of heaps of other talented under 21s. Anyway I respect everyone's opinion, I hope he gets his chance because ive followed for a few years now and personally I feel he has all the attributes mentally and technically to be at the very high end at right back, of course I want to see a player I highly regard play at the club I love, anyway this is a Luca connell thread so I'll leave it at that.
