He looked good for Ireland on his senior debut... He is a senior international now and under 21 captain of a team extremely well regarded. Didn't look good a Thistle though... and that is exactly the reason Celtics rep has taken a battering. His Team mates are around premier teams and top championship clubs getting game time. If alarm bells aren't going off up there it is clear people are asleep at the wheel. Either way the result is the same. Send a promising youngster to Celtic and they will send back a future plumber. I love Celtic. if it was * Bristol I wouldn't be so angry. Cant get a youngster on the pitch when celtic are up 3-0? Lennon is a * charlatan. A monkey could win a league with Celtic and he is starting to make it look difficult

 

The Scottish game is totally different to the English reserve league and 1 international friendly. The lad is only 19 and has Hatem and Frimpong ahead of him who are both class, loan moves work very well when done right. Not many players break into this level at that age, even look at Afolabi he's the same age and is highly rated but needs 1st team football.

Players stagnate in reserve teams not on loan getting consistent game time and experience to improve.

All his team mates have played premier league or Championship football. Sorry but its clear the system up there is broken. I am not just saying like 1 or 2. ALL of them.
He needs minutes on the pitch. Tellin me when Celtic are 3-0 and comfy O' Connor would cost Celtic 3 points? Whether its him or Luca etc. Celtic are going for 10 in a row. they mostly win the league at a canter. There is plenty of room for young players. The not ready thinking is outdated, no young player is ready, they all have mistakes in them til they are 23-24.

This isn't an Irish thing either, nobody is arguing that afolabi or Coffey should at the moment be near the first team, hopefully their time will come though. But I fully agree Lee O'Conner has been treated abysmally by Celtic, he was no doubt sold a load of absolute garbage on deadline day, Lee O'Connor would have more chance of training with the man united first team than Celtic, in fact he very well could be second to wan bissaka but at Celtic he's probably sitting in Waterford twiddling his thumbs. And that was an Irish team missing a few players too. The ones that people thought ready to move up..
Connolly and Lee O'Connor made their senior debuts. I don't think they are starters for Celtic either but what is going on is a joke.

 

I like Luca he has an infectious personality but unless we convert him to LWB he won't get near the first team.

With the likes of Bitton, Ntcham, Rogic all regularly on the bench and Soro not even featured as of yet, it's always going to be tough to break into the midfield.

Not writing him off but a decent loan move might be the best option.

 

I agree on Luca. Nice kid but not there yet. Maybe when he is free of injury for long anough he will grow as a player. I dont think he has the pace for out wide personally but who knows.
