Had loovens not been injured I don`t think majstorovic would have appeared in any of the games.

I agree with this. Is actually capable of being decent. At the moment he would be in my first 11 next to Wilson though to be fair that reflects more on our other defenders than on Loovens

i think Loovens and wilson are first choice pairing..but necessarily the best pairing.....

It is hard to tell which is the best pairing, not only because of chopping and changing but because they have all had pretty poor performances at one point. There are concerns over all of them.

I agree with you. Loovens has looked solid since the end of the last season and the beginning of this season. The one thing we don't want is chopping and changing all the time at the back, we need continuity, and Loovens and Wilson offer us that. I agree with Gunt that far too much is made of the Kenny Miller incident, any player can be caught off balance, and Miller has ripped many a centre back for speed. I seem to remember Maj getting roasted in the first game of the last season by Rangers and off course Rogne's legs are made of glass.

His defending is under-rated imo, played half a season at centre half, and only really had one game where you could say he underperformed and that was motherwell. He has got more and more confident with his run in the team and he is looking to be a really classy centre half. Shows his character really after the horrendous start he made to last season and all the abuse that came with it, to just get his head down and when his chance came along he grabbed it with both hands and now for me should be one of the first names on the team sheet. After having doubts about him when he first came he has proved me wrong and I really rate him as a centre half

Not a fan of Loovens but i'd prefer him to Dan. I'd have Mulgrew, Rogne & Wanyama before Loovens.

I think Lennon will start him and Wilson.

Maj is better than Loovens, who, unfortunately, has just never cut it for me.
Think this thread is a bit unfair on big Dan tbh. One bad performance against St Johnstone followed by an early red card against Sion, for me that doesn't merit "After Majstorovic's shambolic performances recently" and "it has all gone to pot since that big eedgit Dan came back in". I've no idea about this new LB, but if he's any good then we can stick him at LB and Mulgrew alongside Wilson. Otherwise I think it should be Wilson & Wanyama. Big Victor really impressed me against St Johnstone.

I wouldn't have Loovens or big Dan anywhere near the team tbh.

The worrying thing for me is we have had numerous transfer windows since we signed loovens and he still isn't far enough down the pecking order for my liking.lennon like wgs,Mowbray and prob oneill before him have been guilty of overlooking our defence and blowing his budget on strikers.since he has come in we only bought izzy as cha, mulgrew, maj,Wilson and mathews have all been frees

definitely one for the future. i thought it was strange that he's played DM but from the minute we signed him mjallby and lennon had him down as a future CB. some dodgy positiong against st johnstone and tried to win balls that weren't there to be won.

Loovens has actually got the basics for being a fairly good footballer his pacy he can when on form put on a quite good tackle etc.. but its his decision making and concentration that makes him really dangerous and prone to mistakes

obviously K. Wilson as well but i have to solemnly agree. i would rather see Rogne and Wanyama on the pitch than Loovens and Majstorovic and i'd rather have Loovens than Majstorovic.

no doubt at the moment that our strongest partnership is K. Wilson and Mulgrew. i'd expect to see the back of Loovens and Majstorovic if not next window but the one after and us to get in a one centre back to compliment Mulgrew, K. Wilson and Rogne. i would rather Wanyama concentrate in a midfield role. he has good versatility as well.

what annoys me most of the time is that he needs to grow a set of balls. CB's should be attacking everything in the air, he lets the ball bounce far too often.

i started to like him after the 1-0 home game against st johnstone last season, his celebration when we scored stuck with me, he went absolutely mental. shame he's not very good.

edit meant to say st mirren.

Yea but if he had those balls and a more aggressive mentality, less panic moves and less sleeping on the job he would actually be a quite descent defender
