I'd do it as well but more to give Gordon a rest.

Anyone in the know say whether this will mean a new keeper, or Fasan will get the chance? I'd love to see Fasan myself, but the cold reality of potential CL football with only himself and a youth keeper as backups makes me nervous.

The Germans seem to be very good at ball distribution either through kicking or throwing. It's just an important part of the game for starting counter attacks.

Of course it means nothing if he's not actually a decent standart of goalkeeper but those are two attributes that would make Gordon and excellent keeper.

I wonder why the German seem to be far ahead than the rest of us when it comes to distribution. I know Nueuer used to be a striker before he became a footballer so that makes sense but surely not the rest of them. If they have a training regime in place then we have to embrace it pronto, it's like having 12 outfield players at times.

Even thought I'd rather have a shot stopper than a playmaker it would be great to have a keeper that balanced. Janko with a bt of experience would be a great out ball for a keeper to throw. Same with McGregor. Keirney, Sviatchenko and this season Ajer look promising. If someone could read the speed of Janko's one twos then we could be formidable up that right wing. Rogic/Allan and Roberts would love it.

Would fans agree that the most important position experience wise is the keeper? Any other position can be covered to a certain extenct but one mistake in defence by a keeper and it's usually a goal.

Unlesss of course it's a very good keeper with tons of experience and condidence but they tend to cost a few bucks.

I think Gordon is alright, he has been prone to a few howlers but he's also cabable of some brilliant shop stopping. If we could get that confidence back into his game he'd be more than a decent standard for us.

Would always be nice to find another Forster for £2 but very slim chances.

Hardly kicked a ball over there. Only played 20 odd games if I'm not mistaken although obviously he could have worked on these things in training.

    Fair enough :50:

Makes his lack of game time here a bit puzzling when Gordon had a shocking run for a while last season.

Wonder what De Vries signing means for Bailly. He's just turned 30 (or is about too) so unlike Gordon and De Vries he has time on his side. He'll return from injury close to the January window I'd assume. Fasan will surely be loaned out, been touted that Motherwell are interested, so that will be good to see what he's made of and if he can break into the team next season.

In my opinion Bailly might not be finished here. He's only 30 and with Gordon and De Vries both aging Bailly could be seen as a long term option if he proves it while on loan. I could just be over thinking this, and he might just be released or sold in January but he could still have a future at Celtic.

Who knows, he's never really had his chance, Ronny was bad for sticking with his out of form players so wouldn't have dropped Gordon no matter what. I think Rodgers will go with De Vries and then Bailly will get his chance if Dorus * up, Gordon in my opinion will be gradually frozen out.

I agree with the last two posters. It's a decent player that never had a chance

Couldn't GAF, he isn't good enough.

One in a long line of backup keepers that knew what they were coming to do when they were bought.

Back in training with the first team, as seen in Celtic TV's pre-match training vs Barca.

    Once a real contender.

Internationally capped and carried a good rep.

LOst his marbles for 3 years but this was once a keeper that Liverpool, Arsenal and mUtd we're courting.

He's clean, working hard and surley cant be any worse than Gordon or Dvries.

Give the lad a shot i say.
