There was a Celtic fan just on Radio Clyde there saying that when he spoke to Celtic about renewing his season ticket he was told by the club that the Lisbon Lions Upper will be closed next season.
Any truth in this? It would be embarrassing if true.

From what I gather, LL Upper will have no ST holders within and instead will be full of supporters who buy their tickets on a match by match basis/on the day.

A good idea to be honest by Celtic.

Smart thing to do, why pay for 60 police, stewards and pie stall workers extra per game when you might never need to open that area?

How will the Green Brigade get their banners/displays down?!

Does anyone know if its the full top tier that is getting closed or just back of the stand. As the front of the top tier above the GB is relative full in section 412 etc, but above the walkway is a different story. I have had my ticket there since we came home after they rebuild paradise and I not heard anything yet.

Ive heard many different rumours about this.
One is that it will be made into a new family section.
The other is that there will be some kind of cafe etc as it was something older ST holders put on their surveys.
Lastly, Ive heard the same as yourself.
I know someone this has happened to and Celtic wouldnt tell them why. A family member who sits directly in front of them doesnt have to move but they do. Other people have had to move a matter of rows rather than blocks.
All Celtic have said is that there will be an announcement regarding the situation this month. Although i think the people being asked to move should be told why and perhaps more fans would be understanding of the situation as many are very unhappy. -

I really can't to renew my season ticket next season, and one of my few fears was losing my seat in the lisbon upper due to being chatty with some of the people in my area.
I'm actually slightly saddened the people I've been talking to now and then for the last few seasons will be gone when I go back. -
Celtic said they were planning a new family section as well as other things so it will be this considering the LL upper is mostly general tickets anyway
-
If this happens then so be it. Far better to have all the fans together than spread out.
It is not embarrassing in the slightest. -

Guessing you had no problems relocating though?
Theres been groups of fans from buses (8-15 people) who sit together and Celtic cant find them seats together in the same price bracket. If they want to sit together they have to pay £100 more each. -

All this moving ST holders about but not coming out with the exact reason why is begin to irritate me a little. Loads of fans from near the 443 area are being shifted elsewhere, and now this? That means there are two separate reasons for these moves? Why do they have to wait a month to tell us then, are they waiting to see who renews and/or how many new ST they can get?
If the top LL tier is being shut off next season then is it a little embarrassing to be honest. But with that area shut they might now completely sell out the full lower tier with ST relocated. Then on matchday you'll be able to tell easily from empty seats if it's ST holders who just can't be arsed.
I don't think it will be shut though. The price drop should increase our attendances this season. Unless bunching fans tighter together like this is their grand plan of 'improving the atmosphere'?
Having a specific area for paper ticket holders only may actually discourage people from buying individual tickets aswell. Whos going to buy an individual ticket to a ross county game to sit in the LL upper in almost a separate section from the rest of CP.Last edited by a moderator: May 2, 2013
