He seemed nervous and seemed like he was hiding a bit for the first 20 mins or so. Was much better after that and had a good second half. Always been decent when I've seen him

 

Thought he was excellent, especially in the 2nd half he was winning a lot in the midfield and pressing everywhere. Surprised how quick he is, should definitely be getting used more for the physical games.

 

I think both Sheffield lads have just given us the were not here to make up numbers game

 

Similar to Osaze, great physicality but a bit raw. Proved that they are worth keeping around. A loan move may benefit them at some point.

 

Keen to see how he'll progress, positive signs based on last night.

With us bringing in centre mids in January....I'd be looking at getting him a loan to a Motherwell or the likes for 6 month's..

 

Anytime I've seen him play I've been impressed.. loan is a good move for him and and coukd kick start him like it's done others.. Ralston, Christie for example

Would be absolutely ideal. Gives him game time, which he needs to develop, and also lets him familiarise himself with the league.

We really need to start making better use of the loan market when developing players. We’ve failed the likes of Henderson by not using the system properly.

 

St Johnstone hope to sign Celtic midfielder Liam Shaw on loan



The former Sheffield Wednesday man is a big part of Ange Postecoglou’s Parkhead plans, and has over three years left on his contract.

But having only featured twice for the Hoops since his summer move north, Shaw could be set to get regular competitive football at McDiarmid Park.

The Saints squad was too loan heavy in the first few months of the season, with Callum Davidson keen to strike a better balance in the second half of the campaign.

The 20-year-old’s circumstances are different to the likes of Lars Dendoncker and Reece Devine, however.


The Englishman made his Celtic debut against Real Betis in the Europa League and also played against St Mirren in the Premiership last month.

There are plenty of experienced central midfield options already at McDiarmid Park.


And, if the deal is concluded, Davidson will be hoping Shaw’s ball-winning ability and dynamism will complement the likes of Jacob Butterfield, Liam Craig, Murray Davidson and Craig Bryson.

 

Would be a good move for club and player this season. Hopefully this happens.
