I've already posted on this thread that he has already hit is ceiling for us but again if we want to grow as a club he can't be first choice CB. Think we all clamor for Irish players to be first teamers here but Scales won't elevate us to the next level. Squad player and coming in every now and then is fine.

Gave him credit for his performances this season but no hiding from the criticism here. Looked weak af number of times out there, poor dealing with balls into the box and slow to close down their winger, shouldn’t be left to mark their right winger out wide but still should be doing better, performance has definitely dropped last couple games

That’s enough, now. The experiment worked well for a while but time to bench him.

Credit to him for doing well when required, but he isn’t good enough and it’s showing.

He's still doing ok but he shouldn't be starting and hopefully won't be soon.

How we play Phillips with him is a disgrace though, was fine months ago when they were the only guys fit but * Kris Boyd would be rubbing his hands at playing against us with 2 slow centre-backs.

When we were winning people were overlooking all the mistakes he was making and how many times he was caught out. Only now his mistakes are costing us people are noticing he isn't good enough.

Thought he was pretty anonymous today. Both he and Phiullips did ok at times, but all too often in between and especially after the break, when they were dominating there really was noone who took charge at the back, got others organized or made the Killie forwards feel like they were in a contest even.

He's done well but that backline today are nowhere near what we need.

I'd say we could improve on Johnston too and have someone challenge him.

Do now wonder how good CCV was making him look tbh.

Looked a bag of nerves and all over the place alongside Phillips (no wonder to be fair).

Don't feel he's been at the level he was showing in the first couple of months of the season. Really is time for Nawrocki and CCV to be paired together. Sick of the * about.

I think he has been getting some harsh criticism. Hes done well and has come on leaps and bounds. He will come back from today.

Wouldn't be targeted like Taylor that's for sure.

Considering how bad taylor has been this season I wouldn't be against playing scales at left back with CCV and nawrocki in the middle.

Hatate should be nowhere near full back, we’re in a bad enough position squad wise without square pegging round holes.

Scales has been great for us this season but his last few performances have taken a dip.

Wouldnt be surprised if we sold him in Jan, his value will never be higher now that he is a full international and champs league regular this season. a player we would have sold for 250k to aberdeen in the summer could now be worth a couple mill.

think nawrocki or gus will come in to the team over xmas and that will carry us to the end of the season

I feel for him, having to play two positions at once with Taylor being next to useless...

I think he’s an easy target when we’re not playing well.

The whole team is under performing at the moment and defeats cause most to typically focus on the back 5.

Not so long ago he was a revelation, now that we’re looking at a 2-point gap after some really * displays, this guy gets it in the neck.

Let’s look at some other players, how about Kyogo. Known talent, proven scorer, revered by many, yet he finds himself on the bench.

Hatate earlier in the season, couldn’t get a game and pushed out for Turnbull. Season previous he was a key cog in Ange’s team. Granted the manager saw the error of his ways and plopped him back in only to then see Reo injured.

Taylor, went from dynamic defender that comes inside and supports attacks to a restricted full-back when Rodgers came in. Again, the manager lets him come inside for a few games and performances improve. Yes, his form has dipped again but just like the most of the squad, they all have.

The players and team are suffering because of the guy at the helm. * help us if Matt loses his form next.
