Re Bitton: Is it a 'disinterest', or is that just his manner? He had the same style under Lennon, and the same style when he went through a period of cruising through games in Deila's first season.

I think we may be nitpicking at a player who is just going through a patchy spell of form.

Re McGregor: I'm not sure he can be considered a journeyman given he's only represented two clubs in his career.

He does lack power and defensive awareness, but that's just not his style. He's neat on the ball, nimble, links well with his team-mates, can spot a pass and is a goal threat.

He has a lot of qualities but they're all geared towards being an attacking midfielder. That's only being seen as a bad thing because the squad needs a more defensive option.

Convincing and honest argument or appreciation.

This thread never ceases to amaze me . The most wildly overrated boy in the history of Celtic .

Think he's overrated by many on here but I'd give him a go. Not a fan of McGregor in the middle at all.

LH: "Delighted to play. Away and played two games with the U21s as well so when the manager told me I was starting I was feeling good."

LH: "We have a big, quality squad and everyone is fighting for places. A great place to be."

LH: "Fans are turning out, we are playing extremely attractive football & am working under a world-class manager. It's second to none

LH: "When I came back (from Hibs) quite a lot of teams interested in taking me on loan."

LH: "But I spoke to people close to me - my family, friends, older boys who I have played & spoke to manager regularly."

LH: "Done my loans, been out twice and been pretty successful & want to give it the best shot I can to try and be a Celtic player.

Think he's like McGregor in that he's probably alright for the SPL as back-up, but wouldn't want him starting important games in Europe.

I'd like to see more of him. I think there's a bit more energy about him than McGregor. But I agree with this.

I'd say the opposite is true. Hendo maybe provides more dig, but McGregor is more mobile for me and get's around the field better

Interesting. You really think McGregor gets about the field more? I tend to find myself disappointed in that his press seems almost like a token effort not real forceful pressure. I always get the impression Hendo gets the way Rodgers wants the team to play.
But unfortunately getting right down to it, I'm not going to lose much sleep should either of them be used more as squad players to starters.

Love that quote, he could easily go on loan but he is confident enough to give it a go and try and get in the team.

I prefer him to Mcgregor as he is more physical. He's still only 20 though and will definitely improve training under Rodgers everyday.

You could see a clear difference today in him compared to his loan at Hibs. He was basically trying too hard to be the main playmaker at Hibs, whereas today he kept things simple and rarely tried anything fancy.

I doubt he'll ever be a first team regular, but a good squad player to cover injuries/suspensions at best.

I don't think McGregor is good defensively, I think he can be weak and you're right, his pressing isn't the best. But I don't think that's a lack of energy or mobility, more a lack of understanding of when to press in my opinion. He's quicker than Hendo and gets up and down the park better.

I didn't like him at Hibs. Seemed like he strutted about with his chest puffed out. None of that today though

Yeah I got the impression from watching him at Hibs that he thought he was too good for them.
