Regardless the premiership is a step up in every aspect no matter how you spin it. I would keep him and give him games for us, he is that good. Gun to the head, id loan him to thistle.

Hibs are an infinitely better option for him than Partick Thistle.

One look at their respective midfields tells you that.

Think he would have more chance playing in Partick's than Hibs, Hibs have a cracking midfield for Scottish football.

The best option for his development was definitely leaving him with Rosenborg. A better team, that actually plays to win, against professional and decent opposition. Liam Henderson could even play at the Europa League group stages. He wasn't starting all matches there but was surely playing enough and having a decent game time. It's quite good to expose our players to something else other than the british football and that was a great thing for him.

Not that being the best player at Hibs will be a nightmare for him, but I think it's probably being frustrating for him to be downgraded again.

With that midfield Hibs should be beating the Huns. Hands down.

Stubbs needs to try and get the bottlers mentality out of that club. Not an easy task. :56:

It looks as if some posters are not seeing the bigger picture here. Bitton will be sold within the next 13 months. Liam is the player who can slot into his role as a ball playing midfielder. 10 starts for us along with 10 appearances from the bench is better than 40 games playing in the lower leagues.

We are training our player not to be a professional footballer but to be a professional footballer capable of playing for Celtic and handling the pressures that go with it. I am not against giving players games in the lower leagues either but I am when they are good enough to play for us. Our aim should be to play him incrementally this season with the view to him starting when Bitton leaves.

So he's better than the Championship but can't get into a Championship sides midfield.

Which is it ya nutter? :56:

I was hoping he would get into a champions league midfield this season. Depending on how the results go and injuries then a start even. He will need to be ready for next season as Bitton will be gone as he will be in his last year. I think dropping down a division is the wrong move for this player. We need to integrate him into our first 11 this season with the goal of him starting next season. If he gets games for us it will be good for his development as he will know he is good enough. Going to hibs is a backwards step.

Not sure how good a team Hibs are. Couple of * poor results would suggest not very. Although giving him some regular game time rather than an odd 10-15mins every so often, is not a bad thing.

Would love to see him go out on loan to St Mirren or Hibs just so that he isn't to far away and we can see his potential shine, fully believe he is one of the few who can have a bright future with us but he needs to go and get gametime for his own good.

If Bitton goes (which is still a big IF, you are just assuming that he will jump at the first chance to leave) then Liam wouldn't be the right type midfielder to take his place anyway.

You are probably looking at the young Norwegian Ajer as a Bitton replacement. Built in the same mould and big potential.

I didn't say he wouldn't get in. Just that Hibs have a better quality midfield than Partick, I'm talking about the opposition he would be facing in the Championship, that won't include Hibs.

Do you think the Championship is worse quality than the SPFL? That's basically my point.

I'd rather give Rogic the game time than Henderson.

Probably more than a lot of people imagine (Motherwell v Huns MKII in the play off) but you'd be a hypocrite as a Celtic fan to advocate anyone choosing a worse Club to play for in a better League over a bigger and better Club in a worse League. Hibs have a better setup and more development focused ethos than a large chunk of the top League.

If that were the case then we may as well just let; VVD, Johansen, Bitton, Brown and Gordon pack their bags for England.

Hard to fathom how the team that rattled the scum 4-0 last season and beat them a couple of other times can go down 6-2 at home in the first game of this season.

Luckily it was in that * wee cup, so no real harm done. There's still a good chance that Hibs and St Mirren will give the vermin a decent challenge in the league this year.

Will look forward to watching hibs this season see if Henderson can do the business - Scotty Allan (the tim ) looked head and shoulders above the rest in that league hopefully young Hendo is the same.
