I would only like Lennon to experiment little more,I think it would look nice on the pitch if we could play like this:

    Lustig-Ambrose-Van Dijk-Mulgrew

    Brown-Ledley

    Forrest-Commons-Samaras

    Pukki

    (or something like that)

Needed something different in the second half, would have really liked to see Balde make an appearence.

if it was our intention to hit long balls all night then balde should have started.
i think everyone in the entire world knew how ajax would play ,and we would need to do a * of a lot of closing down a lot of players should have been rested on sat,and yet lennon starts with commons who was clearly short of fittness ,pukki or balde should have started .
team selection ,tactics ,subs wrong time after time
last night we seemed to be playing for a draw and got what you get for playing that way

Lennon got it wrong last night. Against teams like Ajax away, you must pack the midfield or they'll have the ball all night. Instead, he chose to play 4 attacker who were always going to be defending. Ledley should have started instead of Commons.

Kayal took a knock, that's why he was subbed. I think he would have stayed on the pitch otherwise.

It was there to be seen it was route 1 football all night, Celtic set up to defend and not to lose which isn't Celtics way, Route 1= Balde!!!
Kayal off for ledley was woeful direct replacement down 1 nil no courage or ambition from lennon until it was too late. Staff and players need a real good look at themselves.
Lustig VVD heroes in my eyes they didn't shrink in fear they played for the jersey last night.
sadly not could be said about the other players. aka SAMARAS COMMONS.
commons just leave and take samaras with ye!

    Behave yourself.

I don't think Lennon got it right at all last night but he is trying to improve a team with both hands tied.

Our objective this season has been clear from the outset: to scrape into the champions league by spending as little as possible while banking profit from selling arguably our best defender, midfielder, and striker. And when January comes we will likely punt our best keeper as well.

We have padded our team out with a guy who couldnt get a game for schalke, a guy who couldn't score in the Portuguese league, a couple of young boys, an Ajax squad player, a Crocker defender who couldn't get a game for wolves, and van dijk who looks the part. Of course when we come up against teams in the champions league but it was always absolutely inevitable. The team has been shaped in such a way that in finishing 4th in the group stage we have succeeded in our objective.

If you want to score goals in the champions league then you sign a proven goal scorer. Or if you have one then you try and keep them. But if you don't spend and you sell off your best talent then it 100% that your team will worsen.

Something different is needed now for Milan...possibly a 3-5-2 with wingbacks? When Sammy plays he is a defensive liability so playing with 3 CBS and wing backs would combat that....And with 3 cb's we shouldn't be caught on the break....

    ...............................Forster...................................

    .............,Ambrose....VVD.....Mulgrew...................

    Lustig.......Kayal......Commons......Ledley.......Izzy

    .....................Stokes...........Samaras....................

samaras and commons don't deserve near this team for the Milan game they have done nothing to cement a place in the team.

I agree but who else? I'll give Commons the benefit of the doubt because it was obvious he was off the pace but who else could be our "creative force"? Balde for Samaras could be a good move

But I would put my house on Samaras and Commons not being dropped

personally I would give tom rogic game time the boy has got an outrageous left foot on him ye can just tell he has a footballing brain defo looks the part just needs a run of games and a shoulder round him telling him to play with a smile on his face and enjoy his game rather than worrying about the crowd ect. its hard to come from oz where its not great footy and then to come into the spl champs.

and I would defo keep playing balde the big mans raw we can see that but he has everything there to be a top player plus his attitude is spot on.
The saying goes if its no broken don't fix it, well its broken so fix it. Too many 1st team players thinking there place is cemented becoz of previous performances. get the young boys in you know they will fight for the colours at least and also gain experience.
but sadly I agree like any workplace the boss has his wee favourites eg Sammy commons ledley stokes.

:smiley-laughing002: I like the bit in the bold

I don't know about Rogic....he can't be thrown straight into this game against Milan having only played something like 6 domestic games.....Despite this, him Balde, McGeough are going to need lots of game time over the coming months because as you said "it's broken so fix it"

I feel the same as you mate but there is no way the fringe players will start against AC.

It will be the same team, you can quote me on this

Don't know what else Lennon could have done though tbh, we have no world class player on the bench, he gambled on Derk being a supersub but he hardly touched it and when he did nothing good happened.

The only thing you could argue would have been Balde on instead of Pukki, and he should have took Commons off earlier, but ultimately we just played *.
