Lennon like MacNamara before him has taken a drop in wages to stay at the club.
He was on more money at Leciester before signing for Celtic, and although his wages were eventually raised, his commitment to the club could never be questioned.
His best days are behind him, but give me a professional that will play for the jersey rather than the money, and I know who I would take.
I would hope if he stays that he is used more sparingly, and more as a squad player next season, but if we do bring in a younger player in midfield, it is best to have a back-up during a transitional period. Many players have failed to make the grade at CP, at least with Lennon as an option, you know what you're getting.

If anyone doesnt rate Neil Lennon as a footballer they have either never seen him play or dont have a clue about football!

Well said Stoogie. Lennon must be re-signed, we need people about the place with strong mentalities and experience of the pressures that come with being a Celtic player, i'm convinced he'd do as much good off the park as on it.

Keep Lennon: He has loyalty to Celtic

We need the players we have, especilly the ones with passion, unlike Millar who turned his back on the club he claimed to love.

I'm a celtic fan, been a celtic fan all my life, can I get a game Gordon?

Sorry, time for Lennon to move on. Been a great servant to the club, but when keane came in last season you seen the gulf in quality between the two. We need younger, fitter and faster legs in the middle of the park if we are to go anywhere in the CL.

ono is a mediocre player that wouldn't be able to cope with the physical side of the SPL. Ono would never come close to what Lennon did for Celtic

"Lawwell is also optimistic that Neil Lennon, the club captain, will extend his stay by a further year despite the Irishman's dissatisfaction with the one-year offer made on a basic salary plus appearance bonuses basis."

Lennon is better than Lawson, Brown and Thomson. If we got either of the other two it would prob be to replace Petrov so Lennon still needed even if only as cover.

Is Sno not being signed as DM that can play CB if needed. He played DM last year on loan with NAC Breada & DM with Dutch U19's.

Maybe mate but released by Ajax at 17, allowed to leave Feyenoord at 19 and 12 games last season for NAC suggests we should not put too much expectation on the young guy, a seasoned pro must be signed so we can blood Sno gradually.

For all the excitiment of GS playing and signing youngsters we still need quality EXPERIENCED players to succeed at the highest level.

Lennon, at this current time, is not better than any of the players I mentioned. He has no pace anymore, his tackling is often rash, and he brakes down more of our play than the other teams.

Why do we need to play with a defensive midfielder in the SPL anyway?

Your first point is debatable. As for why we need a defensive midfielder, under WGS we play with very offensive full backs so need someone to sit to deal with any counter attacks or our CB's would be exposed.
