There's more in that than the transfer fee. We can't afford to buy players like Craig Bellamy on permanent deals except if they want to reduce their wagebills extremely. How many would go from £75k to £25k?

It's isn't somekind of secret. Lennon and the board have said that so many times already, but people still living in an illusion, and slate the board for living in the real world.

Have you considered, just for a second, that maybe there isn't any clubs that wants to buy these players?

Do people really think that the board reject offers for likes of Ben Hutchinson, Morten Rasmussen just to sending them out on loan deals?

They're going out on loan deals because it's the best/only way to get rid of them.

Apparently many fans prefer to keep the players at the club, just to pay the wages and not using them in the team, rather than send them out on loan deals, because they don't fancy loan deals.
    Well, I couldn't disagree more.

    I think it's worth mention;

    • Ben Hutchinson have only one year left on his contract. A one year deal to Lincoln City means he technically is off the club for good.
    • Mainz 05 have a option to sign Morten Rasmussen in the contract. They want to see him deliever before paying for him, which I can't blame them. A fair chance for us to get rid of him. I think he have played his last game for Celtic.
    • Andy Hinkel - one year left of his contract. Out of the season with a serious injury. Technically, he's done as Celtic player.
    • Josh Thompson. Only 19 year old. Not really a first team player. He have still a lot to learn. A loan deal is a good thing for everyone.
    • Cillian Sheridan is off for good. Just an example that Celtic wants to sell players IF there was a formal offer.
    • Paul McGowan. Make or break for St. Mirren. If he don't is a stand-out he will be done as Celtic player, and will be off next summer.
    • Same goes with Graham Carey at Huddersfield Town.
    • Glenn Loovens gonna go to Cardiff City I think. One player in (Kelvin Wilson, Joseph Yoba maybe), one player out.
    • Paul Slane out for a injury for long time too.
    • Charlie Grant released.
I seriously don't think our squad is that big ATM. Players like Misun, Rogne, Towell, Forrest, Twardzik ... all still youngsters.

I have been very happy this summer to see the club trim the squad as good as possible.
Glenn Loovens, Marc Crosas, and maybe Mark Wilson and Ryan Conroy seems to be only guys left we should consider letting go.

IMO we should keep Fortuné and Samaras, and Brown is a very important player.

Agree about Fortune, think he is a quality player, hes not a goalscorer but then he never has been . great at holding the ball up and hard worker if the team has a few good results he and players around him can only get better.

Agree:50:. The policy they pursued in the Strachan years is coming back to haunt them. Whatever happened to the "Jam for tomorrow" policy that Peter Lawell spoke about not so along ago.

Yeh i doubt its a money thing, otherwise our players going out on loan would have been permanent moves, im guessing its due to the squad size.

Great post Christian, nice to see a cool Scandanavian bringing the temperature back down after all the flaming & mock outrage :50:.

Couldn't agree more with this post, Hinkel was the most obvious & Lenny was very honest with Hinkel & with the fans, that he could "find another club". I think the next most obvious would be Loovens, or Hooiveld - I think Lenny obviously fancies neither, it will be interesting to see who he fancies most today, as Hooiveld is available for selection, which he wasn't on Thursday, personally I think Loovens will play - both look as much of a bombscare as the other in all honesty.

If Richie Towell makes it at RB tomorrow ahead of Marc Wilson, then he's either better than Wilson in Lenny's eyes (& Lenny likes Towell, a lot) or Wilson's injured again, either way this should show that he's not wanted - but no-one wants to buy him, or even loan the poor *.

Crosas is a good player, but would do better in a better league - I think he'll go, but as McGeady has shown - any decent offer for any player on our books & the board + the manager will consider it.

i think we need to get rid of some of our central midfielders, there are 6 players who could all stake a good claim as to why they should be regulars. Juarez, Ledley, Kayal, Brown, Ki and Crosas. There is only 2 or 3 spaces in the midfield for them, so letting Crosas go would be good for us cause he's getting nowhere near the team unless we have a horrid time with injuries.
I would also like to see Loovens leave, he is not comfortable with the ball at his feet at all. Reckon we could get approx. £1 million for him from a championship team, looking like cardiff being the most likely destination for him.
I think Fortune will go too, but would like to see him stay. He could be a good RW, but I think Lennon wants to give McCourt and Maloney the wing positions and letting Forrest come on as a sub.
