Just isn't good enough. Fine for domestic of course but he just gets caught off-side against better class defenders. Doesn't have great pace and this is perhaps the reason for that when playing on the shoulder. We need better.

 

Bad game tonight like the rest of the team but he is still a good striker.

 

He was * tonight but I'll give him the benefit of the doubt since he's been carrying us at times this season. Was a bit strange to see him taking corners though. Surley he should be in the 6 yard box trying to get on the end of any rebounds like bittons leader.

 

First touch is atrocious. I thought he was fast but lacked pace to beat their last man tonight. Caught offside too much and missed our best chance of the night.

All in all a * night for him.

 

Sorry but he's played like this all season in Europe you clowns

People think Griffiths and Commons are our best players, that's why we are where we are.

 

13 goals in 6 games is why we are where we are.

He has 4 European goals this season. They guys done enough to be let off slightly lighter than his teammates even if they were all terrible.

I think last year it was 2.2 goals per game and we are down to 2.16.:icon_mrgreen:

 

Pish tonight, not having any of this tried really hard stuff. Give me 10k a week and I'll run about a lot. Been pish in the group games but got a tap in v Fenerbache so it's all good needs to do far better.

 

Probably the biggest sinner tonight, has no awareness of defensive lines, and once again needs too many chances to score.

The difference between him and the sub Kamara was frightening, should never play in Europe if we go 1 up front.

 

I know it's the unpopular opinion, but Griffiths just isn't good enough.

There are a lot of players ahead of him in in the firing line tonight though. No one doubts that he gives it his all, the problem is his all isn't good enough.

Comparison with Kamara is a good one. He looked far more threatening.

Surely the worst first touch goes to Commons.....hasn't received a pass well all season.

 

He was * tonight one of the worst players out there and should have made it 2-2. He's had a good start so far tho and been one of our best players if not the best, so I'll let it go.

 

He was always hitting us on a counter attack though, changes the perception.

I think Griffiths has the ability but he's not playing naturally. He's usually confident but in these games he isn't, either he is nervy or over-thinking things. You would have put money on Hooper or McDonald tapping a goal in from his position last night. He's sometimes too eager to go on a run for a goal, it's not always needed especially in a game like that. Just get us up the pitch without getting tackled, maybe get us a Commons-esque free kick or a corner.
