Lee Griffiths will earn the right to stay at Celtic next season. I love Leigh Griffiths and I have every confidence he will. Just as I have every confidence he'd still be a resounding success elsewhere. His Celtic career is in the balance though, but its getting to the tipping point. I think he should have gone out on loan found form then came back to Celtic a prime asset. He to me, seems far too comfortable in the role. He needs to work harder! As for his social media tik tok videos. That's for the Brain dead. He's better than that. He's got his house. His burd. His 7 kids his wonderful family. His money! The cars the lot!! Go out and win trophies Leigh what more in your last years as a footballer you have so much to offer!! Because he deserves so much more than the two bit job he's giving right now. That rightly earned wage. The guy has a few more years to cement his place in Scottish Football folklore. He HAS the ability. He needs the support. HE CAN DO IT. But that shouldn't be pressure. It should be confidence. A reminder that the Celtic fans love Leigh Griffiths but a reminder that, don't believe those that are doubting you and you know you are more than the mental health label. Griffiths is first pick if Eduard leaves as striker. Ajeti has failed to cement himself, Klymala a hard worker but the big games the performance wasn't what was required sorry. Griffiths, for whatever reason is perpetually on the bench despite the past glories he knows he has in his footballing brain. Its a no brainer to give Leigh Griffiths alongside eduard for me first team picks. But * * Leigh, take your chance. Because he must know himself it'll be the last LAST chance, to show it.

A LOT of fans will think this view is sentimental and anachronistic for seasons gone bye. And that's what Griffiths must be accepting. The view is entirely and absolutely understandable. Straight swap for Porteous at hibs? Doubt we’ll get much money for griff and whilst Porteous wouldn’t be a first choice CB he’d be a good option to have and we do need more options.

 

Of all the suggestions above, this one for me.

Ajer, Julien, another quality CB, porteous and Welsh. I'd go forward with that

Wouldn’t want any player who’s currently at an spl side to be in our squad next season. After Turnbull who was a clear standout at Motherwell I don’t think anyone else in the league is good enough

But I still hold hope that if it is Howe, we somewhat convince him he can still get better at Celtic and to sign an extension and go out with a bang next year.
