i know hes playing bad at the moment but is mcmanus not left footed if he is then he must be in with a shout at playing left back ahead of the mince we alread have?

    that could mean

    mcmanus---caldwell---loovens---hinkel/caddis

    may be worth a shout

Naylor, even when he is not at his best he is marginally better than Mark Wilson.

We all called for his head, but Naylor back in for me as well.

It shows that you cant * about with Full-Backs. You have to be Left Footed for LB and Right Footed for RB, or the balance of the team is shot to *, especially when you have Wingers on there wrong sides.

Whats the point in Wilson bombing past McGeady, who cuts inside onto his good foot, if, when Wilson gets the ball, he has to cut in himself anyway??? It ruins the point of reversing the Wide players.

For that to work you need quick FBs who can get early ball into the box with the 1st or 2nd touch.

    What about a 3-5-2 then?

Loovens, McManus and Caldwell in the back three?

Current squad, Naylor without a doubt - actually thought he was one of the better starters to what has been a pretty miserable season thus far performance-wise...

Naylor back to me seems the best idea too, Wilson looks good going forward but on the back foot seems very suspect, maybe he's better suited against teams when Celtic are going have to defend much like some SPL teams but against other teams Naylor is probably the best shout.

Naylor can at least defend well and has a good positional sense about him even if he doesn't attack enough.

yep with our very bad defenders, Naylor is the best of the left options, but id like to see Doumbe getting some game time in as he is pushing 30 now and not long left....

I didn't know Robson could play LB, It may be worth a short. The running up the line wouldn't bother him as he has some size of engine and cousins leg would of been broke in half if he tried what he did against Wilson.

yeah he did it for Dundee United sometimes, he's vercitial, fast, hard tackler, dedicated, and Scottish.... Why the * is he not A. the first name on the team sheet, and B. Captian!

would do a good job for us!

naw McManus and OD have no pace or chance of pace and both utterly stank when played there IMO. You have to be nippy to play FB.

i remember mcmanus playing left back for us against shakhtar and was our best player until he got injured maybe worth a go even though he wont attack but its the defending that the problem is

Naylor is TRULY AWFUL, worse than Wilson and that's pretty bad
