Even if we do sign anyone now it's not going to change a thing about this window overall.

It's too late for the biggest games of our season and whatever/whoever does come in won't be enough.

We need 4 first team quality players. We will.be lucky to get one.

    Utter farce.

We deserve better... but would't surprise me with the current regime if no-one is signed

Agree, should have done business early and we would still be in the champions league.

But, still crucial for us to bring players in now to secure 8 IAR. We are still superior middle to front on our day but with this defence it could be a close season IMO

The board of Celtic had no valid or currently known reason or excuse not to invest early in the squad for the qualifiers and season 2018/19.

They had over £30m in the bank (could be more should know in a few weeks) and record season ticket sales confirmed by mid June.

The signing of Odsonne Edouard was partially or wholly covered by the addition transfer revenue of VVD move to liverpool in Jan 2018.

Further income of around £8.3m was received from the transfers of Stuart Armstong and Erik Sviatchenko in June 2018.

Clearly Brendan wanted quality and his 2 main targets seem to have been Panicci and McGinn. They moved clubs for a combined amount of £9.7m.

The club failed to delivery the 2 main targets of the manager and made a fool of themselves in the process.

The club then has another defensive crisis and a player has effectively went on strike as we refused a £9m bid from Fulham and the manager all but confirms we haven't been looking at CB with his "not enough time" comment.

We then go out the UCL with 3 goals all coming from the Right Back position which the manager has identified as a priority area to strengthen.

The boards lack of completing deals will eventually cost them around £20m in revenue this season.

But they are happy to boast about record Principal sponsorship and new lights to enhance the match day experience.

We then bid £3.5m for a player at Aberdeen - either stupid or desperation perhaps both.

Then we lose a goal in Suduva where their player runs off you guessed it our right back!

We are now apparently scouring Europe looking at CB who are available this should be done months ago!

The window closes in 7 days or 169 hours and we play a massive 3 matches at home within the next week.

We as fans have done our part, we buy the season tickets, match day European tickets, 3 strips every summer, training gear, pies, bovrils and everything inbetween.

The board do not care about the fans and they clearly have failed to deliver for the manager who is now saying he wants FOUR players in before the deadline!

Their prudence (failure to you and me) has already cost them £20m this season, failure to win the spfl will make that £60m, next season and Brendan will then leave and season ticket sales will drop to around £15m and due to not spending £9.7m Celtic have taken a £75m gamble and hope it pays off.

For your sake Mr Lawwell I hope you don't have to bring those banners out of cold storage in June 2019....

You almost get the impression from Brendan's comments that we don't even look for players until we want them in a particular position at a particular time. This "not enough time to get a CB in" stuff he's mentioned in the last few weeks is nonsense. They should have a list of targets for every position so that they can make a move for any position whenever necessary. That's the whole point of a scouting network.

We've come across as amateurish as * this summer.

i can't get my head around The Boyata fiasco ,firstly even if he was going to sign a new contract we needed new cb's as he's pish, then when he said wait till the world cup over is a clear indication he wasn't intending to hang around ,apparently we don't let players enter the last year of their contract yet we just have, then turned down £9million when according to his agent had some sort of agreement to move on.
poor player who doesn't want to be here, contract running out, offered a large sum of money and he's still here * ridiculous

That’s what any normal person would do, but our * board are a shower of * and will not back the manager this window.

Edit - excellent post by the way

Last thing I’ll say on the McGinn, apparently he still wanted to come and sat waiting for 3hrs for a phone call that never came before signing for Villa.

As much a * our board can be, Brendan can't moan about not being back when he HAS been backed this window - maybe not as well as he'd have liked but he's certainly been backed...
