You get some idea of what kind of country we're living in when Katie Hopkins can come second in a televised popularity contest(Big Brother) and most of the nation's major media outlets portray a man who is opposed to austerity as some sort of loony who is a threat to national security. This at the same time as they support a Prime Minister who is pro nuclear weapons, wants to sell off our NHS so his rich buddies can make money out of it and has no conscience about inflicting pain and suffering on the poorest and most vulnerable members of society.

Can't we separate from these Tory * down south already.

No, i want to use it as a stick to beat her with regardless of her religious views.

Even if she is an atheist, and in truth i suspect she is, i will slag her off completely for actually singing gstq!

Its nothing to do with my total intolerance of religion, as i dont have total intolerance of religion, i have total intolerance of organised religion holding any kind of power.(or wealth)

Individuals who choose to go down that path dont concern me, as long as they dont attempt to 'spread the word'!

Project fear 2 is well under way. Those within labour and the daily right will not rest until Corbyn is punted back into the deep blue yonder. And thus this is how the establishment in this country works. Any left leaning floating Yes voter need waste their time flirting with going back to labour because he will be bullied out at some point.

The man does not stand a chance.....feel a little sorry for him.
He did say he will not make labour policy but that's up to the labour party.....so....more voting and abstaining to help the tories then.:smiley-laughing002:

I'm delighted he's their leader. I'd vote for him.

I'm concerned what the media will do to him though. I was told at work today about something which was on tv last week, where a reporter went to some random people in middle England and put forward a list of some of Corbyns views and policy ideas. However, they didn't say it was Corbyn. A large majority of people thought they were good ideas, but once the reporter told them they were from Corbyn people started getting defensive about it...

It just shows how the media can influence people. Most people don't know anything about the actual policies. The whole world is full of sheep looking for the media to make their opinion for them.

Corbyn seems genuine and above all of that. So fingers crossed.

I used to vote Labour, almost through habit but Blair, Iraq etc really * me off so went to Lib Dems, which unfortunately is pretty much a wasted vote. I would seriously consider voting for a Corbyn Labour though...thinking about it.

Incidentally, I think itd be great if Labour and the Lib Dems just merged as they are reasonably similar ideologically and it would be a greater amount of votes against Tories.

Im quite similar.I grew up as Labour supporting teen/young *, but moved to the Liberals after John Smith died, and Blair became leader.

Now of course, the Liberals have completely blown it, and i will do what i can to support Labour again.

I welcome the election of Corbyn but remain a SNP member and voter. The sad thing is it does not matter who is the current Labour Leader is as the boundary changes that the Tories will pass through Parliament during this Government will guarantee a Tory Government till 2025.

So, if Corbyn and Labour are pushing those policies at the next general election, and knowing that it really comes down to a choice between Labour or conservative under the current system, you'd rather we got another Conservative Government than a Labour one?

As I said, if the British public view those policies as "far too extreme" then they deserve their Conservative Government with all the policies that accompany it.

Do you disagree with his policies then? Despite the fact that you seemingly support a centre-left party in the SNP who mirror a lot of his beliefs?

    No 'seemingly' about it :smiley-laughing002:
He is hellbent on renationalising virtually everything, that worked out well in the past. Yes AS wanted to do that with the post office etc and I moaned like * about that as well. Do I agree with all of the SNP's policies, obviously not. I have said many times before there is no perfect political party all people can do is judge the best fit for their views.

Look, the truth is that under the current UK system we're going to get either the Conservatives or Labour.

As things stand, with Cameron and his boys in charge on one side, and Corbyn on the other, who would you rather see in power?

Careful how you answer now, you wouldn't want to confirm the beliefs that a lot on this forum have about you :86:

All labour voting does is maintain the union....back to the good old roundabout....torie/labour/torie/labour/torie/labour......a world full of bullshit and promise.

The system will never change while you support it.

    Wullie, nothing will change regardless.

Independence, an SNP Government, a Labour Government, a United Kingdom under Conservative rule, it's all the same.

Wealthy, middle-aged men (for the most part) in badly fitting suits who take orders from the uber-wealthy corporations, banks and media owners who actually run the country.

None of that will change, because as things stand the majority of people reply on others (the Government) to map out their lives and futures.

Once people stop relying on the Government as much, things may start to change. Not before that though.
