Good to see we've signed Kyle to the new deal
Celtic are delighted to confirm that Kyle Ure has become the latest Academy player to sign a contract extension with the club.
The young midfielder has signed a new two-year deal which will see him remain at Celtic Park until June 2027.
The 19-year-old has played a key role in several youth teams, rising through the ranks at Paradise.
In 2023, he captained the Celtic Under-18s to Scottish Youth Cup victory, defeating Rangers 6-5 at Hampden Park.
Making the step up to the B team, the midfielder has been a consistent figure in the centre of the pitch for the young Hoops.
During Celtic's impressive run to the knockout stages of the UEFA Youth League, Kyle Ure played all six league stage matches, and he will be hoping to play another big part as the Hoops take on RB Salzburg in the knockout round later this month.
Congratulations Kyle, and we look forward to seeing your journey continue in green and white

Promising midfielder Kyle Ure has opened up on the prospect of breaking into the first-team, following his successes in Celtic’s B team in the Lowland League.
Ure was awarded the club’s Academy Player of the Year award on Sunday night, at their annual in-house ceremony following the Glasgow Derby.
After making 39 appearances for Celtic’s B and U19 teams this campaign, respectively, the 19-year-old midfielder has set his sights on a senior team breakthrough. "It's a great feeling obviously to be recognised for my performances and consistency throughout the year,” said Ure to Celtic TV.
"It's a very pleasing award to get at the end of the season, and I'd just like to take a moment to appreciate all my teammates as well. I couldn't have done it without them. Everybody in the team together makes me look better, and we all look out for each other, so it's an amazing award to get it
breaking into the first team would be everything. Growing up, you want to be a proper football player. You want to be a first-team player. Now, at this stage, you're not too far away. You train with them; you see the quality they've got and the intensity that they bring.
“You just need to try and get to that level and stay consistent for as many years as you can."
Contracted to Celtic until the summer of 2027, Ure will be looking to follow in the footsteps of the likes of Callum McGregor, James Forrest, Anthony Ralston and Kieran Tierney, who will return to the club once his Arsenal contract runs out.
The 27-year-old will be hoping to make an impact against Paris Saint-Germain in France on Wednesday, with Mikel Arteta’s side trailing 1-0 after the first leg in North London -
3 games to go. Title in the bag. Young lads like him should be seeing some game time. If we can't do it now we never will.

Partick Thistle want to take Celtic youngster Kyle Ure on loan.
Jags boss Mark Wilson is hoping to get the green light to land the rising star who is currently captain of the Hoops; U18 team.
He has been away on pre-season with the Hoops and the 19-year-old has impressed with the first-team, recently featuring off the bench against Sporting CP in the Algarve.

I'm no sure the dream team of Mark Wilson and Alex Rae are the masterminds to bring him on either..NomDePlum likes this. -
Thistle are a team that should be top end of the championship so probably a better analogue to playing for us that it would be playing for a relegation battler

Would be a good move I think if he started for them, give him the platform to get noticed and then move up to Premier level next season with more experience, if he's going to make it here as a more combative midfielder then probably will need 2 even 3 seasons under him before he'd be playing here.

Scott Burns in his lunch time update earlier
As I have mentioned above. Ayr United are keen on landing midfielder Kyle Ure from Celtic.
Partick Thistle are already in for him. Scott Brown will be hoping his contacts can help him swing the deal.
He already has Jude Bonnar on-loan from the Hoops and there are also on-going talks over a possible cooperation agreement. -
Ayr United look like winning the fight to land Celtic’s Kyle Ure.
The Honest Men and Partick Thistle were both in the fight for the midfielder on loan.
Scott Brown, however, looks set to come out on top.
Ayr have already taken Jude Bonnar on loan and are in discussions over a possible cooperation loan.
The Ayrshire side also have more financial muscle than the Jags and that has also strengthened their move.
Ure, 19, has been on pre-season with Brendan Rodgers’ squad, where he has impressed.
Celtic now feel he would benefit from a first-team loan in the Championship. -

Perfect guy for Ure to learn off. Similar profile to Broony..

I’d have sent him to partick with mark wilson. Doubt he’ll be back in for another Celtic youth now after being rejected for ure. But I’d have imagined broony would take another player offered up 100%

We’ve got good options in that league now if you include Lennon at Dunfermline. Could be really beneficial for these young players and Celtic. The managers of these teams know what it’s like to play for the hoops so they will be able to give a balanced view on their potential both mentally and physically.
