He'll be a cert to want away in the summer tho.

 

First thing the new manager should do is sit down the Dom McKay and tell him he is making Ajer captain and to throw the best contract we can at him.

Get Brown to *, convince Ajer he is the guy to lead the club and have McGregor as vice.

I firmly believe Ajer would be happy to take that, but we need to show him (like others) that we as a club see a progressive future for the club to make something of ourselves and give them a platform to impress. Not just making up numbers as the whipping boys to Europa League dross.

 

Ajer will be away in the summer. Far too good for us now.

 

Hopefully, but I think he's gone.

Going to be the biggest loss this summer.

 

Why would he accept that when he could move to any league in the world and have a higher wage than we could afford?

 

Why would anyone then?

I don't think he dislikes it here, I think he is very fond of being here and knows there is still more to learn to his game. We can offer that and then some to him, if we show our own ambition.

 

I dont think anyone who has major career possibilities to play at the top level and doesn't have an affinity for the club would accept it.

This is why I've always thought the whole notion that we should be absolute light years ahead of the huns is daft. Our best players who aren't Scottish or a bit older will always leave within a few years. Even going back to the likes of Boruc, Naka, McGeady. They all want out eventually to go to bigger (or just different) things

 

One of the few guys on the team who comes out of this season with credit. He has never dropped the head and keeps battling and in fairness has actually shown good form allied to his leadership and battling qualities. Says a lot about who he is in a very positive way.
I so hope your wrong but your probably not. I would though do whatever we can to try and get him to stay. Him and McGregor should be the teams captain and vice captain and along with Forrest, Turnbull and Soro be the core around which we rebuild if that is we can get Ajer and McGregor to stay.

 

I have the utmost respect for this boy..

As has been said, wants away no doubt but a complete professional..

Hasn't thrown his toys out the pram all season. Knuckled down. Been a leader at time's. Been shunted to other position's to do a job. Been covering all season for certain other's..

We will miss him ridiculously but he'll go with my best wishes 100%..

Best thing that happened was Maldini praising him when played AC Milan. Was like he just realised if he just plays like he has been, he’ll get the plaudits.

He can still be rash, but he’s got a lot better at that.

He’ll go on to have a really good career.

 

He's been absolutely brilliant..

His defending last night was spot on but what about some of those Virgil-esque runs though. One of them he ran from our half in to their box and did a mental bit of skill with some quick feet, megged his man and it just got away from him..

 

Yep, a few other " professionals" on our team should be embarassed when they see how this guy has conducted himself this season whilst desiring a move away...

Your almost certainly right there. But I would at least go to him and make him our absolutely best offer to try and get him to stay. Would love to see him and McGregor and Forrest as the mainstays we build a new team around next summer.

 

What could we sell him for this summer?

 

Only has a year left but has easily been our POTY this season, minimum 10-15 million

 

If he had longer to go on the contract we’d be looking for big money but we’ll get a fraction due to him having a year left.

 

Won't have any bad blood against big ajer when he goes, one of the few that gets credit this season
