Johansen was out top scorer in Europe last season and already has 2 this season.

I do think we need a proper play-maker in that position in general, though.

I really wish we could play Johansen and Commons at the same time. Will only ever really happen if either Brown or Biton get injured and Johansen gets asked to play a bit further back.

There have been loads of games where Johansen has played in the 10 and Commons has played on the right with them both interchanging

Them switching about is one of the most effective forms of attack that we have IMO, defenders aren't sure how to cope with it in Scotland anyway.

Aye I really like it. Would happily drop either Armstrong or Mackay-Steven for that!

Right now it would have to be Armstrong you would say. GMS needs to get his shooting boots on in competitive games though, been clinical all pre-season but should have had about 4 so far from the competitive games this year.

Keeps getting into the positions he should really score from, so you think that'll come.

I think both of them have been pretty average in competitive games so far this season. Armstrong was the better player on Saturday although that was from a more central position. So Aye probably Mackay-Steven on the left.

Armstrong is a central player, think he's quite shoehorned into the side just now, you're right though it has been average for both.

Just getting that feeling that it's just about to click for GMS though.

Three left footed players behind a left footed striker though, bit unusual.

He won't start, because Ronny won't start him no other reason.

In general or on Wednesday? He'll be a starter this season because you can't ignore what he brings to the team. He'll be one of our top scorers/assisters again this season.

I think there is a misconception that Ronny doesnt like Commons. But I don't think that's the case at all. He just needs players to buy I to what he's doing and I think Kris had problems with that transition. But he got a new deal and plays regularly, so I think its safe to say Ronny is happy with how Kris has adapted

On Wed.. Feel he would have started on Sat if he was being considered for a start in Wed as he's not played much.

He won't on Wednesday because he's only played about 40 minutes and missed pre-season. Might be better him getting a half hour rather than start.

After every pre-season Commons seems to come back and have gained a stone. Saturday was no exception :smiley-laughing002:

Doubt Ronny will start him on wed. Quite a dilemna as we look devoid of any creativity in the first few games this season when he's not been on the pitch, however we need a grafter chasing everything down on wednesday as their passing was crisp which Commons definitely isn't.
