Poor show today not alone in that midfield seems to lose shape when opposition have the ball.

Nonsense. Commons is very apt at long balls.

Non existent today, strange when he has had good days at Hampden before. Nobody decent on the bench to replace him or he would have been hooked sooner.

Strange how when everybody wanted him in the team at the start of the season RD stuck by his guns and never played him, at this moment in time I don't think he is playing at his best, all be it out of position, and RD sticks with him through it, today from the first few touches he was not at the races and still managed to avoid being pulled off before, Forrest who looked lively

He was the poorest player on the park for us, and he should have been hooked instead of Forrest, who was actually having one of his better games I felt. His corner, which in turn, led to them breaking on us and Gordon getting sent off, was nothing short of a disgrace.

    I agree.

I love the guy, amazing signing and can be a match winner.

But by fek, he was having a howler and it always looked it was going that way anyway.

From the first minute I said he looked like he was hungover lol, just wasn't at it all. Although I think he's an important player for us and can change games, like Wednesday night. Can see him being used alot more sparingly next year though.

I hope not. When he came properly back into the side we started on a winning run. I am not giving him all the credit for this either btw but he played his part for sure.

He is a weapon from distance and without him we can be toothless up top especially if we play one striker who gets isolated. I am delighted he signed a new deal. He is our most important player over the course of a whole season. The amount of league points he contributes to is scary.

Was at his best against Dundee on Friday, people always say he slows the game down, something I've never understood, his passing and finishing in the last 3rd is some of the quickest in the team. His ball to Broony for his goal was perfect, the kind of ball that we constantly seem to just mistime.

Penalty was never being saved either, love a penalty where they just stick the laces through it.

I can remember him slowing us down in midfield a few times when we've had chances to catch other teams on the break. When playing against established defences it's not an issue at all

His decision making against Dundee was also very good in general.

Probably has been a few occasions but in general he's always one of those players whose trying to just get the ball in the net, look at his 50/60 yard blinder of a pass to Griffiths on Friday night, he does stuff like that quite often for us and it seems to go unnoticed.

That is just a meaningless catchphrase that some people seem to latch on to. We are currently playing possession football, which is slow and patient. If anything Commons speeds up our play because he is always looking for the direct option. His long ball on Friday night was beautiful and something we need to see more of as we will need to break at pace in Europe.

I like the fact he's staying but I wish he's no where near our starting 11 next year, we are a much more exciting team without him.

We are a better team and more effective team with him. He's a player who has a real effect on the outcome of games, another 16 goals from midfield, second top scorer this season, in a year that has been quite stop start for him. He's crucial.

When teams sit in very deep he can be pivotal, his ability to take a ball early is amazing.

Big part of the squad and glad his contract was extended.
