I think his physique is a factor, too. A lot of people have it in their heads that everybody needs to be like the recent crop of footballers who are tremendous all-round athletes, as well as being good players.

It's the new fashion in football to have a team of runners who can play a seriously high-tempo pressing game and attack super quickly. Just like a few years ago it was all about tiki-taka, and before that it was all about having someone in the 'Makelele role' etc etc

Obviously that style has had brilliant success in recent years. Salzburg played a similar way, and they destroyed us. That's what Deila wants to do and, because he's currently winning games and he speaks well in his interviews/press conferences, people are eating it up.

Just because we're heading that way, doesn't make players like Commons, Stokes and Mulgrew obsolete.

 

I don't mind him shooting so much when the one he scores flies in against Sevco.

Was it him or Brown that scored? I thought him but said announced at the match as Brown, and on websites, looking at the replay of the game I still couldnt tell.

Great assist tonight as well for Griffiths first, was a lot more effective when we went two up top like most of the team.

Broony won the ball and it bounced ahead, Brown went to hit it and Commons half volleyed it imto the net.

Looked like that on the replay in the stadium as well but inly caight the tail end of it!

 

why did they say brown over the announcer lol, and it was strange, as because it got us level, none of the players celebrated it

 

I thought Commons got it as well and my pal thought Brown, they announced Brown, I also thought it looked like Commons celebrated it, just mind him turning away and being crowded.... Broony would probably have ran and done the Broony.

 

All the players ran over to Commons, Broony ran into the net and picked up the ball.

Everyone here likes to trash him during the in game threads but he puts in his fair share of goals

 

Been reported as Commons goal everywhere i have seen , and i have read every match report off of newsnow . Would have to be a serious blind man not to see Commons volleying it in . I think the confusion came with the fact Brown ran into the goal to pick the ball up.
