Strachan dropped McGeady in his first season due to his lack of work, tracking back etc and he came back better than ever.

Lennon was all about setting the team up to relieve Commons of any defensive duty, but Ronny obviously wants a more rounded team.

Great to see him sign a new deal.

Did he not get dropped for wandering in off of the wing?

    Hopefully.

Sammy's last six months were a write-off because his future was up in the air. Glad we don't have to go through that again.

Sammy's last 10 games or so were some of the best he's played domestically I thought.

I think it's good to see Ronny telling him like it is, as although we all knew Commons was great on the ball it was true that he needed to work a bit harder. Equally Kris obviously has a brilliant attitude.

Ronny really seems to get players working for him, and if you don't have the right attitude you get shown the door, the way it should be.

He's a got a clear vision and when I listen to Ronny lay it out like that, it makes me excited as to what we can achieve.

He is confidence is growing too.

    x2 on this.

You can also tell he is having a dig at the Guidetti's and Commons before this month about "If your not wanting to improve then you aren't in the team".

I didn't know whether to put this here or in the Ronny Deila thread, but it's a great quote that makes me really optimistic about both Commons and the rest of our team under Ronny :50:

Think this is the best possible outcome.

Ronny obviously wants a complete team, which is polar opposite to Lennon who gave players certain jobs to do on the pitch. It was never Commons' job to track back and defend - he had other players doing that for him. His job was always to find good areas and hurt the opposition.

That's obviously all changed now. Change is always easier to subscribe to for footballers if you're winning games. Now it is clear that things are starting to click for Deila, the players who were maybe resistant to his ideas initially now know they either shape up, or will be shipped out.

Commons would have been a big loss, but I think his willingness to improve and conform to Deila's ideas will be a big thing withing the squad. He is a leader in the team and can hopefully have another great couple of years with Celtic.

At least with Commons', he is always open and honest when he speaks - and he always speaks well.

I * love the honesty in that interview.

Also love the fact Ronny said that they have agreed what they want from each other, it's a collaborative realtionship not just Ronny dictating.

You could see the difference in him last week. Actually back in our half trying to win the ball back at times. Good competition in the forward positions now as well.

He looks like he's lost a bit of weight. To say about the last 4 years & there was times he could be a little bit lazy and get away with it, fair play to his honesty. Mad to think this is what majority of the squad possibly think also.

Kris has put his own ego aside, knuckled down and bought into Ronny's vision.

It shows his love for the club.
