Now now he might only get half that at another club.

he shouldnt have to he done that last season the real concern is injuries and fitness

he will be looking for a payday as this will be his last year as well as the fact he stopped playing for scotland to maintain his fitness.
Maybe there is an underlying problem

Comes in for the last 3 games were we've steadied the ship and gained 3 clean sheets while having 3 clean sheets.

    Struggling beforehand.

Some of the posters on here have some odd views regarding great servants to the club

We weren't struggling in November when he wasn't playing either. Commons was brilliant against Killie and ok against Hamilton and Motherwell, but he has by no means been a decisive factor.

He is for me, him on the right has balanced our team out and giving space to our right full backs to bomb forward and it's * working. The amount of space he makes out there is mental.

We're playing far better all round than November where I feel we were relying on Guidetti's brilliance rather than brilliant all round. It's not a down to Commons but he's brought a lot of balance to the team. He's made our right hand side as dangerous as our left.

As a team performance it is very good.

Absolutely. For me Commons is our best player. He is clever and is our best asset against SPL blanket defences. He offers so much with his overall game.

I really dont know what the people who are saying he is our weakest link are playing at. I have tried to look at it from their point of view but most of their criticisms are not even true.

If we do not give him the two year deal, it will be a mistake.

Give him the contract that he wants,we are a better team with him in it,although it counts for nothing he clearly loves playing for us and being the main man,we should show him some loyalty.

By far the weak link in the team against Motherwell.

All he done all game was shoot from incredibly stupid angles, more often than not being a greater threat to low flying aircraft and bird population than the goal.

I must say that i find it rare that there is a wee gang of anti Commons posters. I could understand 1 or 2 at a push. It is funny because I have never met anyone in real life who shares these views. Maybe people say stuff online that they would never say at a game or in a pub? I'm not having a go, im just saying, it is odd.

You've never met anyone who thinks Commons hasn't got the pace or movement to play the pressing/pacey game we are trying to or that he shoots wildly far too often from crazy angles or as soon as he gets the ball instead of passing when a pass is on?

So he didn't play an inch perfect pass for Adam Matthews goal against hamilton ?

He wasn't man of the match against Kilmarnock and a constant threat hitting the bar twice ?

Against motherwell his movement was excellent , actually pay attention to his performances and just see how much space he creates for others.

70 odd goals in 130 games from midfield is exactly why he is a " great celtic player " .

Commons for me does still have a role here and should get a new deal for his services and ability now to still win a game for us (natural goal threat). There is no doubt though when played this season his overall play for the most part has been the worst of his Celtic career (in my opinion)..

I don't think anyone wants him to go we're just debating whether a 2 year contract is suitable considering his age and the way he plays.

Apart from that, I'm assuming he wants a wage rise.

I have not been over this season but i was over twice last season and Bitton was on the bench for both games. I do try to get over a few times a year but the trips are not cheap lad. For the record I am one of Bitton's biggest fans but I have to admit that his game is lacking in certain areas. I think he will become a top player though.
