Commons is hit and miss now, some games like Killie he runs things and then others he just seems to be a hindrance slowing up play with a * first touch or just wanting to hold the ball up all the time. His passing some weeks is * shocking as well.

Maybe true, but i've never been the biggest fan of his all round play, his goals glossed over a few short comings last season.

Pace is what holds him back. When in europe we most likely need to hit teams on the counter and commons just isnt suited to it. He's suited to teams sitting on the edge of the box and he can shoot as good as anyone from range.
But i think its best to be playing the quick attacking football we want to do in europe in scotland as well so this "he can do a job in scotland" shouldnt be what were looking for in out team. I personally wouldnt be that disappointed to see him move to let armstrong and gms in for him to create our new high tempo ,attacking philosophy.

The thing is he was getting a game/played. He was pish. Hasn't tried since Lennon left & was dropped.

End of story. We're basically having fans demanding he gets a new deal on his performances from last year, despite being absolutely brutal this season bar Kilmarnock.

I remember at the time of signing, Commons was given a 20k a week contract. We offered 5k more than the huns at 15k.

    http://www.theguardian.com/football/2011/jan/26/kris-commons-rangers-celtic

Boerrigter will be on at least 15k which is nuts.

Should we not be very concerned if somebody whose been dropped, has been injured and in your words, been brutal, is still our 3rd top scorer and assister?

Is that not a damning verdict on the rest of the team bar Stokes and Guidetti?

Ronny doesn't have the confidence to give Commons a 2 year contract.

IMO going by Commons displays this year Ronny is justified.

I think if Deila told Lawwell that Commons is a key player going forward and he needed him for the next 2 years then he would be offered the contract.

It's more likely that Deila will keep him in the team while he does his 'slow and steady' transition from Lennon's Celtic to Deila's Celtic, but ultimately, Commons will be phased out.

If that's true, Commons should not be given a 2 year contract.

I think it is unlikely Deila really wants Commons in the team long term.

Wise up people it is not Delia who is not keeping Commons it is Lawwell. If it is Delia then he doesn't know what he is doing but we needend worry about that because a real football man will see the value of a 2 year deal for Commons even if he doesnt play week in week out. If it is Delia then we are in bother. Simple as that.

threw his ASTRO boots into crowd because we have no games to play on astro turf in immediate future.

As someone who in the past has said they would sell Commons if an offer came in, I strangely want him to stay.

I have always found him to be too greedy, as-well as too slow at times, but what he has done here, he deserves a new contract. He is fully capable of scoring goals, along with creating plenty of chances.

Do I want him to sign and start every week? no, but I still think he is worthy of a two year contract(if that is the only problem.)

So much for the media's prediction that he had played his last game against hamilton. Commons was * tonight but he's still one of our best players, I'm praying he stays.
