Both Hamilton play through Andreu and he was taken out the game by a crowded midfield. If they had played a natural wideman on Matthews then we would have had some trouble there but they didn't and Matthews had the wing to himself.

One of the main reasons why the game was so dull as there were so many players playing, drifting and dropping deep into midfield.

Goals as well ! Ffs * like you expect far to much. Do you have any idea how much an attacking midfielder who can score approx 15/20 goals a season would cost me eh sorry us.
    Regards

Nah, no chance. Not having that at all :56:

For one thing, Commons puts the absolute * up any SPFL opposition, they concentrate on him so much that everybody else has tons of room. Johansen and Brown's work rat insures the midfield will be bossed and if Biton ever decides to defend he'll help that.

You are talking absolute * if you seriously think Commons can't cope with the * SPFL.

    Exactly :50:
Let's be honest, in all probability the only reason there is not a 2 year contract is because RD has obviously said to Pete , Commons will rarely start/be picked.

Not on your nelly sir. Our football manager has zero say in this department. The only reason he will not be here is because our chief executive is a *.

If by some major miracle that Pete takes advice from a football man and this is the reason Commons is not getting a fair contract then he should be chased immediately. This is absurd though because every football man would see the value of Kris Commons.

The reason he won't get a two year contract is because he's 32 years old and probably a high earner. Who is a liability away from home in Europe. Also in a 14 year career he's only scored 15 or more goals 3 times.

I am giving RD the benefit of the doubt in this one and he rarely gets an easy ride from me. I can only assume that Pete has his mitts on the 1st team again either directly by forcing RD not to play him as a negotiation tactic or indirectly as RD knows he is leaving anyway and must plan for life without him. If the manager is not playing him for footballing reasons then we are in big trouble.

He is 31 not 32 until August meaning by the time his 2 year deal expires he will be 33.

Yes the fact he is a high earner is why he is not getting the contract he deserves.

Where those 3 times for us?

Yes and in a 4 year Celtic career he's scored more than 15 goals 3 times. That's the beauty of buying players at there peak.

But do we want him when he's not at his peak? He was great against Killie, but average against Hamilton like much of this season. I'd rather use GMS or Forrest (if fit) next year

He scored 32 goals last season from midfield mate, 2 weeks off in summer hasn't destroyed him as a player.

Forrest isn't reliable. If GMS can bring more to the team than him feel free to play him. Right now he's our 3rd top scorer and assister. He's hardly played.

So if someone is more creative than him and score more goals than him feel free to take his place in the team.

Hardly played? He's played 922 minutes in the Premiership and for much of the time he didn't play he was injured. I think he's done ok, but he hasn't been fantastic.

Besides, the question isn't if we want him this season or not, but do we want him in the 2016/17 season?

Aye, he's been much like the rest of the team, not bad. Just because he was injured doesn't take away the fact that nobody who replaced him can step upto the mark and provide the goals or assists that he does.

Do you think I'm clairvoyaint? I can't see the future but personally, all things considered, yes of course I do. He's never relied on pace or mobility, he's relied on his footballing brain. He is the exact type of player you want at your club in his 30's. Not the players that's relied on physical ability throughout there career. Ryan Giggs at Man United being the exception because he transformed himself.

One fallacy - Oh he's not been played.

He has played. Bar Killmarnock, this season he's been rank rotten. Pish.

To be fair, I think his defensive work has improved a lot recently, I remember watching the hamilton game and being surprised by how much he tracked back. He wasn't brilliant at it, but he put in a shift

He always put in a shift defensively up until ladt season. Last season he didn't because it was a tactical decision, Neil wanted him up the field.

Go back to us beating Barcelona he was practically right back. People have short memories, remember him on the left hand side of the pitch? He helped shield Izzy brilliantly.

People act like he can't do it or press the opposition. Go take a look at our first league game of the season.

I have said that after Stefan, Commons high pressing has impressed me the most. He has been very tenacious like a wee terrier at times. It is rare that he gets praised for this. This season I remember him having 1 particular bad game and in 1 or 2 others he has not been at his best, but in fairness very few of our players have performed this season. If Commons leaves and/or he does not get a new deal then we are again weakening the first team for the sake of our bottom line. Dont let people kid on that this is a football decision, this is about money, and it is about our chief executive showing who's boss.
