Commons has been great for celtic but it's time to move on. Personally I thought he had a great game against killie but at Hamilton I thought he was poor gave the ball away so many times. I also wouldn't mind seeing Forrest played in the no10 roll.

I would like to see Jamesy get a go in the hole, not necessarily the no10 role but more like the Sterling role. Lenny experimented last season with this and i reckon that he had plans for this, this season. I disagree that it is time for Commons to move on. It is a mistake, he still has value and will have next season as well. We will be much poorer without his quality, even if he is not in the team every week.

Before we talk about James Forrest as anyones long term succesor he needs to prove himself fit.

Commons doesn't contribute much defensively. Whereas Johansen does.

What about the sitters we missed that commons created ?:97:

To say that Johansen is "far more creative " than commons is complete and utter nonsense , and can not be reasonably backed up . Commons contributed 50 odd goals last season in goals and assists , which is something stefan johansen will never be capable of. Commons creates more chances than Johansen and is our biggest goal threat whenever he is on the pitch .

Not an important attribute for a CAM to be honest. Quality before horse like qualities in that position for me.

So we trade goals and creativity for a bit more solidity in our final third?

Also, why do people keep having this as a straight slog between the two. Play the two of them * sake.

Of course you are right. I rate Stefan and this is not a criticism of him but i reckon he wont score 30 goals in the next 3 seasons never mind in a single campaign

Of course it's an important attribute. We won't get anywhere if we are defending with 10 men.

We aren't though. He's better at it than Commons but Commons defensive abilities aren't non existent.

    Defending with 11 men.

You could play them together but the only 2 formations we could play is with 3 midfielder or 2 strikers.

Commons doesn't have the physical attributes to play up front under Deila. With 3 midfielders, Brown automatically takes 1 place. Mulgrew and Bitton take the other. Leaves Commons and Johansen for the last and similarly to playing up front Johansen fits the team better under deila.

No you don't, play Commons where he's been playing just now. On the right.

Or stick Johansen out there, he can chase people to his hearts content out there.

That doesn't work against good teams. Both played in the middle - Commons drifted in and it allowed Matthews space but smarter teams will exploit this. Force a 2 on 1 and beat us.

You should watch him play more often then.
