Commons has had some great seasons with us and I for one appreciate that .
However this season , Commons has been poor , whether that is down to change of tactics or him losing his touch I don't know . We have dropped points in six games in the Spl and Commons has been on the pitch for at least part of these games . The other games missed by Commons because he was injured or dropped we took full points .

 

It seems our club don't want too reward our long serving players anymore,commons situation same as samaras's last year.

 

I know I've been pretty critical about him over the years, mainly to do with his performances in Europe but of course he'll be missed domestically. If only he had a bit more mobility and pace about him, he'd have been top class no doubt.

There's no denying his great goalscoring abilities, I never have but even domestically he can really slow the play down or be too greedy.

Now is a good time I think to part company, we are moving on as a team, Ronny has his ideas and I'm happy to let Ronny get his chance properly at implementing the set-up/team he wants to have.

True mate, another aspect that's slipped from my mind about him. First touch can be absolutely horrendous on occasion.

 

Noticed that Matthews during the press conference before Motherwell was not at all concerned about Commons leaving since other players could step in (Johansen). And here's Denayer, maybe a bit less relaxed, but not unduly concerned:

“I don’t know if he is away, but he is a very good player and it is like every good player: if he goes it is difficult for the team,” the Belgian teenager said. “He is one of the senior players with a lot of experience, so he knows what he is doing and he can help all the team.

“If he goes, I think we have a very good coach, so, though it will be difficult, someone will have to take his place. We have no choice. If he goes, we will have to play our best and keep going. The quality is there in the group.”
