Kris Commons

He's been good for us. But this meteoric perception some seem to have is baffling. Swear some would think we would be winning games 15-0 if he was getting a regular game.

Allot of it is media driven too, as a reason to have a pop at Ronny.

 

by playing commons you are halfway between 2 different systems he cannot press he cannot track back and has little pace. Commons is good when he isnt expected to do these things but when you are playing a system with the full backs and wingers playing so high up you need to be able to do them otherwise we are left short at the back

 

Well i do not read the red tops and i very rarely listen to clyde1 so i have no idea what the media's view is, although i suspect they give RD an easy ride.

The reason why people have this perception is because Commons is our best player. I rate Stefan as a player and he rightly as someone pointed out earlier should not be compared directly to Commons. If i want a tenacious midfielder with a bit of quality to play on the left side of the diamond, id have Stefan. If i want someone in the hole i will take Commons. It is a no brainer. He is just better suited to that role.

This is not a slight to Stefan but playing in the hole it will take him 3-4 seasons to score as much as Kris did last season alone. Not playing Commons is insane.

 

My guess is he'll go, but not to Bolton. Bolton are in * loads of debt so the likelihood of them being able to outbid anyone else is not all that high.

Regardless of his form this year, someone's bound to take a punt on him, because he's * hot in a different system.

It's entirely debateable how we'd play with Stokes and Griffiths up front with Commons in the hole, because Ronny has just never really played them that way. It's been McGregor. That's the thing that's been a bit daft this season the addition of McGregor has been a factor in the detriment of Commons' season.

Stick him in the Bournemouth team, or Derby County and he'll be more effective.

So a move to a team with a very good chance of promotion will suit him better than a move to Bolton.

 

Ok lets sign Keith Lasley as a replacement for Brown then. That man puts in a shift.

 

That is a line that i have seen repeated before on here. Have we been better without Kris? We have been rotten in the majority of games this season to be perfectly honest. Most of which he has not been involved. He has been back in the side for the last 2 games and we have looked so much better in these games.

 

Look at my last post. Have some manners and dont insult me. The majority of people who support Celtic agree with me by the way. Commons is a brilliant player and not giving him a 2 year deal is a mistake.

 

commons has played 26 times this season. we have played 34. correct me if im wrong but 8 isnt most of 34

 

I would give him a 3 year deal and get Johansen to clean his boots.

 

He should start when fit though and a lot of those games he has come off the bench.

Most people rate a player who scores 30 goals in a season.

Been made out as a stick to beat Ronny by the media and ex players doing the old pals act, cause Lennon isn't here anymore.

Media and some fans would have you believe he's unfairly not getting a game too as art of some agenda. He started this season, and was hopeless. For a footballer too his fitness levels are shocking. He was unsurprisingly dropped.

Now this mad clamour to give him a new contract. He's no as good as Johansen. Doesn't suit this system and doubt he ever will at his age to trying to play the fast past game we're trying to play.

Nonsense. Commons pressing earlier this season has been excellent. A few goals came directly from Kris's pressing.

And if the manager is not going to play a quality footballer for not pressing then, i despair. Rui Costa never tracked a runner in his life and that never stopped him. Commons is not a true no10 like him, Commons actually puts in a decent shift.

What a load of cow dung....I'm sure if we singed Messi he would do a lot of tracking back and work very hard. Same goes for Ronaldo.

Fact of the matter is, he is probably the SPL's version of Messi in terms of goals and a bit of quality. His goals will outweigh any amount of running about for me. Especially if Johansen is his replacement because he couldn't finish his dinner despite being having a good engine on him.

 

It is very difficult to score from the bench. I think he still has more than Stfan though.
