I haven't really seen anyone disrespect him. However, you calling people clueless for having a different opinion to your own, now that is disrespectful.

 

You think Commons isn't good enough? I am sorry but that is an outrageous statement.

 

I was the 1st to be called clueless in this debate. I am apparently clueless for wanting our best player in the team.

 

No I don't. Hence why he's not been starting many games.

 

No dilemma in my mind - he's the best attacking and skillful player we have - make room for him !! Worth two year contract in anyone's book - suppose the sticking point will be how much he wants .

 

All about opinions, I suppose. I'd just prefer we utilised the player who I regard as our biggest goal threat.

I can see that Johansen is a good player and he does offer a lot more than just his goals and assists in the advanced role.

I wouldn't say Commons is lazy, and he's not greedy, either. He is our 3rd top assister this season - despite vastly limited game-time. He was our second top assister and top scorer last year, and the year before he was our 2nd top scorer and top assister.

For someone so greedy, he sure racks up a fair share of assists.

What is the problem with using statistics to help illustrate a point?

 

Our strongest XI doesn't have Commons in it.

This is one of the stupidest things I've ever read anywhere in 23 years.

Commons is the kind of player that can come
on with 10 minutes to go and score a screamer to win us the game. Look how well he played against killie. Commons should stay, he's miles better than half out squad at least, getting rid of him does us no favors.

He isn't. His position is between him and Johansen.

Johansen is fitter, tracks back, is more box to box, has the same passing and shooting attributes as Commons and is younger.

If we were to say who is our best player, IMO its him.

Commons is well of the boil and lets be honest is getting older. Out of one good game(Killie), he's had two or three stinkers(Hamilton).

Not really a dilemma, a great player for us is reaching his time to move on.

We should give him what he wants people won't realise until it's too late what he does for the team we have him to thank for being in any European competition aswell this year the guy is a head and shoulders above the rest

 

Commons is a very influential player for us apart from his 32 goals last year.
We will need him against the Huns on Feb.1. Would be the second name on the team sheet for me after Brown for that vital game.

 

I am astonished that anyone who watches football can think that Johansen is a better footballer than Commons. The only and i repeat the only quality that Johansen has the edge over Commons is that he has a better engine.

Johansen will never score 15 in a season for us never mind 30. I truly find the opinions of Commons to be mental. Do people not watch the football or is it because he is having a row with our chief executive that people are rewriting history? I just dont get it. Commons is the best footballer in Scotland.

 

I think it is wrong to compare Commons and Johansen directly. Yes they occupy same area of pitch but are vastly different players. For me if Commons is not happy with a one year deal then he can move on at end of the Season or now if a decent offer is made.
