Some people just wouldn't appreciate a good footballer if he slapped you in the face with 31 goals in a season.

I don't buy this hes the wrong side of 30 so we should be looking to offload him chat. Its not the stone ages we live in, plenty of players can now play easily until their mid 30's at a high level and some even beyond that. Players now have all aspects of their lives monitored in order for them to prolong a career at at the highest level.

Sunderland just signed Defoe on a 3 and a half year deal and hes 32, 33 this year. Arsenal now too are keeping more players past 30 when previously they only offered one year deals or were looking to youth.

Personally i'd like to see him stay.

Abit harsh isnt it. Look what they both did for the Oscar Knox family alone. Both have been credits to this amazing club

Lubo was the wrong side of 30 when he signed. And it's a false economy grabbing a fairly small transfer fee for him now as opposed to him staying and helping us to a potential treble.

Maybe because of the fantastic work they did with the Knox family?

I hope he stays. It would be a bit * if he left. Give him a two-year contract. He deserves it. Been huge for us over the years.

I've not seen the footage from today but why is Deila saying he is staying if Commons is saying goodbye?

That is something that annoys me in football, the manager's won't reveal the absolute truth of any internal matters. It makes sense why but it's still * annoying.

I think deila was asked if talks were to continue, of which he said something like "i dont think so".

I'm sure already the usual suspects are queuing up to throw in their bitter and twisted * at hih if he leaves, in the same manner as they did with Lennon and a whole load of others who served the club brilliantly and only crime was to leave or be pushed out of the club.

The guy should never be allowed to leave, whether this is yet more * judgement by Deila or he is being controlled by Lawell and the board on this, we can all only speculate.

There are a heap more that should be gone before we start looking to punt quality players like Commons

Ronny said he's not going anywhere. Commons chucked his gear into the crowd.

    Should be interesting.

Commons at 31 is "too old" despite scoring 32 last year and 72 in 173 overall from midfield.

Samaras is our 5th highest ever scorer in European football, scored 2 in 3 vs Barcelona, and was an "imposter".

Virgil Van Dijk is clearly one of the best signings we have made in years, but he "thinks he's better than he is" because he isn't a badge-thumping "tim".

John Guidetti is "overhyped" and not worth paying money for because he hasn't scored in 5 games.

And yet if a player came out and said anything he'd be a "* *!!!!", I'd have no problem with one of our players if they ever criticised the fans over being too critical and negative.

He is the wrong side of 30, so what? so are Pirlo and Lampard who are both 36

Maybe I'm old fashioned but I'd rather use ability and effectiveness as as guide to a player than his birth certificate.

What younger player on our books did you have in mind as a 30 goal a season player out of interest?

    Are you having a laugh?

So the top scorer in the SPL isn't "good" in your eyes

    Good compared with who? Messi?

I take it your last game was in 1967 was it?

I can see both Celtic's side and Commons' side in this whole debacle. I want him to sign. If he's confident enough in his abilities he should sign the contract with Celtic and win an extension when he's a year or two older. I mean, if he loves Glasgow that much and his family are settled. But, I get that he wants the security (don't like it when £20k a week footballers talk security) for the next few years.

    He loves it here.
    We love him.
    Ronny wants him.

Should be simple. Someone has to give and that seems to be the problem.

From what I can see ,its RD ,as if he said to the board Kris is in his plans for the next couple of seasons then the contract would be for 2 years.

I think today was his last game. I genuinely wouldn't be fussed if it was or wasn't.
