  1. That was because Brendan brought back chips and Mars bars.

  2. Never wanted to leave and do feel a bit sorry for how he seemed to not be given a chance by Brendan. Guy deserved a proper send off for his service to the club and not just a friendly with a bunch of retired guys. To be involved in the huge nights he was then just have that stripped away must have been tough. Still think he had his use as a squad player last year but no doubt his decline will be huge at his age having barely played in 18 months.

  3. Didn't he spend basically the whole of last season injured?

  4. Love the sentiment, but he was one million percent done here.

We moved on to the next level, because we moved on from guys like Commons, Mulgrew etc.

Great player, and fully appreciate his contribution over the years, but Brendan called it dead on.

  5. He had sciatica for majority of the time he was here under Brendan, Rodgers did say he wanted to play him at some point but he never got over the injury and got his fitness up till basically when the season was over.

I know it was tough on Commons but there were players that worked there arses off all season to get chances so you could see why Rodgers never put him in at half fit.

Would also say it was a great stage for Commons to play his last game for us in the Henrik vs Lubo’s legends, was a great occasion and getting play alongside so many legends for his send off was a nice touch.

  6. I honestly thought he was our best player. Loved him. If i was a kid his name would have been on my top. Sad to see him go. His time was up though. He should go play for hibs. He'd be a cracking signing.

  8. I remember having that exact thought back when he was doing well for us. Great guy, never had a problem with Commons.

  9. Should be a good interview

  11. Can't wait for part 2. Would love to hear his thoughts on that last year under Lenny. I'm hoping he talks a bit about the signings like Balde, Derk and Pukki. It'll be interesting to see what he has to say about Ronny as well.

  12. I did notice that Deila wasn't mentioned at all. Really hope he chats about him in the next episode.

  13. KRIS COMMONS has said Rangers once showed interest in signing him – but they didn’t have the money.

The former Celtic star came to Scotland when he signed for the Hoops in January, 2011.

But Commons claimed the Ibrox club had also been showing their interest and may even have moved for him that summer.

Speaking to Si Ferry on Open Goal, the 34-year-old admitted Gers’ financial difficulties scuppered any chance of a switch.

He said: “There was interest but they didn’t have any money.

“I think they would have maybe thought about it at the end of the year but I never had a conversation with my agent saying ‘Rangers are in for you’.

“You know what agents are like.

“‘Villa’s interested, West Brom, Sunderland’, you get all these things.

“But unless someone makes a phone call, which Celtic did – that was me up the road the next day.”

Commons spent his earlier career in English football with Nottingham Forest and Derby County.

And it was at the former that he met his future Celtic boss Neil Lennon.

But Commons revealed it wasn’t all plain sailing for the Northern Irishman.

He added: “He used to come in with some of the worst gear I’ve ever seen.

“All the young lads would give him abuse but he was just an angry, angry man.

“He came in with a black BMW M5.

“I said that must be fast and he said ‘yeah, sure, take the keys and go for a spin’.

“Me and Wes Morgan went flying down the A52 and came back up!”

  14. Quality interview. Loved his insight into the team under Deila. Clearly a lot of players weren't happy in that second season.

  17. Won't be long until Kris comes across like an Andy Walker or somecunt like that.

Loved him as a player, really annoys me as a "pundit".

    Soup-taking *.
