We've had this comversation before about age (at the other end of the spectrum though) I believe what you said is if they're good enough age doesn't matter.

    Commons is good enough.

i think hes definately off now. i dont know what to think to be honest. very good player no doubt but what frustrates me about him sometimes is he shoots way too much. must be frustrating for the striker as when commons gets the ball anywhere around the box his first thought seems to be shoot rather than look for the pass.

perhaps ronny sees this or maybe its because he dosnt have the fitness capabilities which he demands. i think ronny sees johanson in the no.10 role and if commons is one of our big earners he may seek to move kris on.

it would be sad to see kris go though because he has been a big player in recent years.

Kris was immense tonight, Bit more luck and he's scored at least 2.

Hopefully plays like this from now on.

I am in total agreeance with you, he is more than good enough.

If anything, his age will be a godsend if Ronny is gonna be bringing through more academy players to the team.

Aye we will need experience. The likes of Hendersom will do well to learn off of Brown and Commons.

Age means nothing to me. The things you lose by age - pace, stamina and fitness arent commons' main traits anyway!

I really think we should sign him. a 2/3 year contract is fine. he'll be 34.

    Look at Lubo!

How can people say that Commons should be * off about the amount of game time he's getting? In the first few months of the season, he played quite a bit, starting most of the games. Aye he was dropped for Maribor, but he started about 90% of games bar those ones, In hindsight he probably should have played.

But what else has he got to complain about, he got injured(after an unspectacular start to the season by his standards, aye, settling into the new system and all that wouldn't have helped) and we went on a 8 game winning streak in the league, with Kris only starting one of those.

We don't win a couple and he then gets his chance in the starting line up. Thats how it SHOULD happen. No-one deserved to be dropped when commons returned from injury, so no-one was.

When your winning you play the same team who are obviously doing the business, if team loses a bit of form, you change it up. Thats what happened, good player or not Commons didn't deserve to replace anyone during that run of games.

He was excellent tonight and should start the next game, but only because he took his chance when given it, just like other players done in Commons absence. He deserves a new contract, but he doesn't get an automatic place in the team based on previous efforts.

He's privileged to be a Celtic player, if he doesn't want it to continue, just because a few other players took their chance when he was injured, then it's his loss. Give him a two year deal.

Mostly the likes of McGregor being ahead in the pecking order than him.

    All about the collective
This guy should not be getting sold or signing a pre contract.
I only seen the second half but he was our biggest threat on goal in the second half was unlucky to not get a double.
We need that in the team, can't let a player of he's quality go for 250k or for free.

Since Commons has returned from injury McGregor has featured a lot less than him domestically. Aye he's playing in Europa league. But that's valuable experience for a young player

Also came on before him the last two games I think? Ahead of him in the pecking order in the Europa as well. Which can't be discounted just because it's a positive for McGregor.

Strange tonight in the sense that it was a surprise to see commons not only back but back to his best..

With him being out and Johansen nailing his spot it was almost too easy to forget a man who was our leagues player of the year and top goal scorer ..

Tonight was a wake up call to everyone, he cannot leave for free or on the cheap, the man is still a vital (squad player at least) and CAN play alongside Johansen which was a concern amongst many..

    Sort it.out Celtic..

Nope, McGregor didn't feature in either of the past 2 matches before tonight, in fact Commons got about 110 minutes over those games. He's played about 200 minutes in the past 3 games opposed to McGregors cameo tonight.

McGregor isn't ahead of him in the pecking order. Simple as that.
