Don't think he'd be the top scorer outwith us, not at 34 and coming off the back of a season having not played.

He'd certainly grab a good few though.

I don't see the relevance? Honda is talking about the league.

I'm not downplaying his goal return because for an attacking midfielder, it's impressive. What I'm saying is, at a team like Hibs where they are unlikely to dominate the ball on a regular basis, he won't be on the ball as much as he was here meaning he will have less opportunities to shoot.

Other than that crazy season where he was a) on fire and b) essentially a false 9 at times - he averaged around a goal every 3 games. Again, it's not bad in the slightest, but at a team like Hibs I imagine it will be harder to come by goals.

Resent him? I just think he's severely overrated. He's just a very average typical 'English' player for me in that they can strike a ball.

People talk about Commons as if he was a Lubo or a Naka. He's touch, dribbling and passing/vision were poor for someone who Lennon wanted to build the team around.

Like a said. It's no coincidence that the more important a role he got within the team, the poorer a team we became overall in Europe.

He was the main part of the team to get us into the last 16. The best we've done in Europe for years. Then we sold the spine of the team. Ofcourse we then played worse.

No he wasn't. He scored 1 goal in the 8 CL games and got no assists. Samaras scored 3 goals and got 2 assists in 6 matches. Hooper scored 2 and got 1 assist in 7 matches.

It's pretty common knowledge that Samaras was our main man in that CL campaign.

Yes, resent. How many European goals did Commons get for us? How many European assists? I'd be quite confident in saying more than both Lubo and Naka, despite being a less technically gifted player. I'm sure all our downfall was due to Commons being a big part of the team and nothing to do with our prized assets being sold off and sold on the cheap.

Passing and vision was poor, apparently, but was always at the top of the assist charts for us.

One of the best players we've had over the last 20 years. Of that I've no doubt.

Wasn't that goal a penalty as well?

Commons was a great player for Lenny and us..

The way BR and even Ronny want to play the game, with high pressing and athleticism all over the pitch, Kris was never going to feature much.

Ronny could see this and wanted to give him a one year deal in fact in some ways Ronny lost a lot of credibility when dealing with Kris. Ronny seemed to have no control over the contact situation and was quite weak in dealing with him and when Kris got his 2yr deal it looked bad on Ronny. It really highlighted for me how out his depth Ronny was.

The most important penalty in the campaign. Without it we'd have been 3rd. He played fantastic that night and took a sore one aswel.

I'll admit when he was off his game he was really off his game and * :56: still my favourite player since larson.

Anyway he's had his time and he deserves his cameo, it's a nice touch..

And those with slightly longer memories will thank him for his contribution.

A good servant, chipped in with big goals but never good enough for Europe- he was the star man in teams that had Pukki, Balde etc in them. Would he get a game before Naka, Lubo, or Rogic, if he was in their teams? Absolutely not

He turned the game v Shaktar Karagandy with us looking unlikely to score, that was a great strike.

There has been a European contribution.

Did he not score on all his significant debuts too?
