Your right, even the lions had their day, BR said he would give him a cameo at the end of the season good opportunity to honour his contribution, great player, great man!

Will he decide he is wrong when he hammers 7 past the keeper from 20 yards out. Left a right and a header and a nutmeg. Hope so. Guy was my favourite player for years.

Do you not agree though that Rodgers has made the right decision? Commons just doesn't suit our high pressing game.

Great bargain, great servant but our game has totally evolved and Commons has been rightfully left behind.

It's not a slant on Commons, he's been a big game player for us and I still think he's a handy player, in the right team. Unfortunately for him our sights are now set higher and we are just all round too good for him. If he was 5 years younger and 5 years fitter, he may of been able to adapt, but not now.

Even when he was five years younger, he was never fitter. :56:

His first two and a half years he was mostly brilliant. His goals were invaluable and he was a Hunskelper.
Been a shame he hasn't featured much the last couple of years but time catches up with us all and he obviously isn't the player he was.

    Wish him all the best.

Nah. I feel it was a power play. Completely break up the main clique that ronny suffered with. Mulgrew stokes and commons.

So you think the three of them should still be at the club and playing?

We have moved on and are so much better for it. Whatever it was - power play, braking up cliques - it * worked. That'll do me.

    Indeed.

Can people get over it? It's embarrassing seeing people still going on about Commons and Stokes etc. We're a far more exciting team now than we were with them.

Getting rid of Mulgrew and Stokes was the right decision entirely. Don't know how anyone couldn't possibly agree with that.

Well, actually, I know of one man who might disagree.

It worked completely. Commons isn't past it though if hibs pay him the money he'd be the leagues top scorer next season outwith our team. He's qaulity.

He would have got his chance though like most if he never had an outburst imo. At the time I'd have also punted him and refused to play him but ronny had no balls.

I agree, he's still good enough for this league easily, just not good enough for us anymore.

We have progressed beyond Mulgrew, Stokes and Commons. This isn't a Ronny Deila side.

    No he won't.

He had a fantastic, freak of a season when he scored 27 league goals for us. Other than that season, his league returns were:

11, 1, 11, 10 and 4. And that was at the best team in the country who dominate just about every game.

If he signs for Hibs he'll do very well to get double figures.

    This.

Will never understand why some fans talk about him as if he was Celtic's Messi. He had one freak season were Lennon basically played him as a striker or just off the striker.
Also don't think it's a coincidence that the more responsibility he got as a player in the team, the poorer a team in Europe we became.

Ironically when he was the 'main man' and scored all those goals it was one of the most boring Celtic teams to watch for me.

Even if such a clique existed, I don't think there was going to be much danger of Rodgers having trouble with it.

I have rated all three of those players very highly while playing for Celtic, but I don't think they would have been suited to the way the team plays anymore.

The point was about being the leagues top scorer.

Don't really get what goals out with the league have to do with that...

I was wanting to know, he's been a fantastic player for the club. Not many guys can claim a Celtic career like Commons has.

You seem to resent him for some reason, as you do with Lenny as well for some odd reason, doesn't mean others can't take an interest in a guy who served us very well over the years.
