And that was a completely different opinion than nobody knowing who he is in 20 years time, enough to say 'Kris who?' if his name is ever brought up.

He'll be remembered in a similar way to Georgios Samaras, Charlie Mulgrew and maybe even Anthony Stokes.

Some people didn't like them, some people really did, but their contribution to the first half of a potential 10 in a row cannot be disputed, and will certainly not be forgotten to the point we're struggling to remember who they were.

Time will be very good to Samaras I feel, the frustrating memories will fade and the shining moments will remain.

And of course, there was also the Last 16 run. Guys like you've mentioned, Hooper, Forster, Ledley and co will definitely not be forgotten.

There's an Anton Rogan CSC ffs, how short do people think our fanbases memory is?

Like him or not he scored and set up some important goals for us. I really hope he gets his chance. It would be poor of brendan not to give him a shot before the end of the season.

I loved the guy. Still do i suppose.

£300,000 for a guy who went on to score nearly 100 goals from the midfield.... I don't think he'll be remembered as a "Samaras" as someone mentioned earlier. I reckon in 5-10 years time we'll be looking back at a midfield goal threat like Commons and feeling like he was another Lubo.(Not quite the same standard but level of admiration)

Beautiful Sunday - the IRA version
En route to ten-in-a-row Commons has contributed nearly 100 goals and a substantial amount of assists.

His place in Celtic's history is assured.

I hope Brendan does the right thing and lets him have a farewell game.

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has confirmed that Kris Commons will leave the club at the end of the season.

The 33-year-old has had a prolific goal scoring record in his time at Celtic Park, scoring 89 times in 227 matches, and Rodgers is playing with the idea that he could hand Commons with one final appearance in the green and white.

The attacking midfielder has failed to play a minute of football under the Northern Irishman’s leadership of the Glasgow giants and was sent out on an emergency loan deal to Scottish Championship club Hibernian in December.

He made five appearances for Neil Lennon’s side, scoring two goals and supplying two assists before returning to the Premiership champions.

However with his contract set to expire at the end of the campaign, Rodgers has admitted that Commons’ time at Parkhead will come to an end.

“Being a supporter of the club I know what Kris has done in his time here. He has been a fantastic servant for Celtic so he’ll go with all our respect,” said Rodgers, as quoted by the Sunday Post.

“I actually spoke to him on the subject (of getting a last run out), to be fair, earlier in the season as he could have gone in January.

“He had a great impact here but unfortunately for him this season the team has taken on a different dynamic.

“But he’s been brilliant. He has been a good guy and I like him.”

Celtic signed Commons in January 2011 from English club Derby County.

He’d also played for Nottingham Forest and Stoke in his career and made 12 appearances for the Scottish national team, scoring two goals.

Really hope Brendan gives him that last run out, to say goodbye to the fans. He deserves it.

I'd start him in the remaining league games, so he can be in the shop window for his next club. The league is won, so why not. I'd put money on him scoring and assisting a couple too.

Hope he plays. Doesn't have to be the last game, just let him say goodbye. Loved him. My favourite player for years.

Got it on good authority from someone in the club last night it's not happening. Shame that, man deserves a proper ending with us
