It's not just that, he's spoken about how his family are settled here and enjoying life in Scotland etc.

I'm surprised that there wasn't an agreement reached for him to stay at Hibs until the end of the season.

I love Brendan and respect his judgement, but I hope he realises that football isn't purely about performance, sentiment and cult heroes are what make football, and Celtic, great. I really hope Kris gets some game time after we win the league

Maybe he'll bring on Commons at half-time at Ibrox, only for the bold Kris to half someone and get sent off within 30 seconds, a la Gerrard.

I thought we could have come to an agreement where Hibs paid half and we paid half until the end of the season. It's a shame his last years are being wasted. He really must miss being out there but I understand he won't have any skills to do any other job so all the money he can put towards the future the better.

Unlike Armstrong ffs not only is he a brilliant player he's studying to become a lawyer, he's going to make more money when he stops playing, Dave King will be thinking of splashing the cash on him when he finds that out:56: Mind you he'll be a distant memory when Armstrong reaches the Bar. Most players think reaching the bar is having a good result on the Saturday so getting the Sunday off.

Ajer is studying to become doctor. Amazing. King would be after him too, can you doctor our books?

Kris was an excellent player and we thank him for his service.

He managed to secure a two year deal when one year was probably about right, Ronny realised this.

Kris used his popularity with the fans and in the dressing room and seized on Ronny's vulnerability at the time and got his deal.

That's football and I certainly don't grudge him his deal, but the club doesn't owe him anything.

He's earned himself the right to a proper send off I think, hope Rodgers lets it happen. Even if it's 20 minutes at the end of the season.

Always bugged me about how players like Thommo and Sutton left the club. Without a proper farewell, Commons is the same for me.

I'm not against that but not sure if BR will be that sentimental, seems to me he's the type of manger where every game and substitutions within each game are heavily analysed. He'd probably rather give 20mins to Henderson or the like.

Would be nice to give him his send off, just not sure nice will come into it.

He's also a very shrewd Celtic man, 20 minute cameo to say goodbye at the end of the season? The fans would be * delighted with Brendan, it'll just add to his stature. Fans are already on board with him but things like that cement it, add to the morale at the club.

Such things are worth a * of a lot.

I actually have no doubt Brendan will let him say his farewells before the end of the season.

Unless there has been a serious falling out then I don't see why not.

I don't think Hibs could even afford half of Kris' wage.

I'd rather see Aitchison or Johnston or Hendry get a cameo over the Commons. They are the future.

We're talking about a 20 minute cameo here to let a great Celtic servant the chance to get his deserved send off, not that he should be ousting talented youngsters.

I bet has done so much for those young players that they wouldn't begrudge him his send off.

He can get his send off at full time when he does a lap around the pitch.

I'm not his biggest fan so maybe I'm biased, in a sense, but I don't get the whole he needs a send off thing. To me he hasn't been that sort of player.

Not a player I'll look back on in 20 years and think "what a player he was".

I would give him his 10-20 minutes, he deserves it.

Nobody is asking you to critique his talent. He has devoted a lot of his time to our club, on and off the pitch, and he scored some important goals for us.

Deserves his send off. Do you really dislike him that much that you would begrudge him a farewell after we've won the league by a gazillion points?

It's normal some people want him to have a send off.

But people claiming it will somehow have anything to do with Brendan's stature among fans are idiots.

Commons getting a cameo will have literally nothing to do with Rodgers legacy.

No. I wouldn't be annoyed or upset. I'd just rather see someone who is going to contribute to our future getting a chance.

I think giving a player like Mikey Johnston a taste of Celtic Park and senior future at Celtic would mean a lot more than giving 20 minutes to a 33 year old who by that time will have barely played first team football in 18 months.

:giggle1: True. I don't think it was meant to end like this though. But it's not harming us at the moment. Would like to see him get a wee run out just to say thanks because he's been brilliant for us through the years. Then he can join Hibs and become a Hunskelper there.

We are going to have about 8 or 9 games to give these youngsters a chance, maybe start letting 2 or 3 first teamers at a time go on holiday to recharge too.

We can accommodate the youths and Kris easily, doesn't need to be one or the other.
