Aye but Commons has been a good servant here. I don't want him playing either and agree he's absolutely done here, but ripping him about being a fat * etc is just pointless and a bit out of order in my opinion when he's nowhere near the team anyway..

I've met him in person and I didn't think he looked fat at all, just looked strong.

Been on this forum since August 2008 and every single season, there are calls for a player who isn't involved, to come into the team and give him a game. It's usually when we're playing poorly and someone suggests a fringe player as the solution to our woes, but as you can see it happens when we're winning too.

 

Whatever way you want to twist it your wrong about him, have you seen the guy with his top off?... no have ye *. The thread was bumped to ask a simple question about why he's not getting a mention when he is clearly making a serious effort to work on his supposed weakness of not being mobile enough. I love Rogic but he's no more mobile than Commons. Commons was a 90 minute player all his time here so fitness is not an issue. Armstrong is really the only other challenger for the CAM position at present, are you seriously trying to say he is a better option? He might run about with his nice hair but usually it's like a headless Chicken giving the ball away and often looks like he's towing a caravan too.

It's a perfectly reasonable ask when guys like GMS are getting special mentions by the manager, having just come back from injury like Commons. If Commons didn't have a future at the club, Rodgers or Lawwell would of got rid of him in the summer either by loan or sale. I don't think either are that way inclined to let 15-20k sit and rot down the drain every week.

So your basically calling me a liar and trying to rip the pish for sharing an innocent true story and I'm the warmer... * *! Ya spaceman. So many fickle short memories on this forum, hope he does get his chance again and takes it because he certainly merits it more than the likes of Armstrong and his pal.

 

Nobody's saying he has a * given right to start but we are asking the question about where he's at in comparison to lesser players getting opportunities before him. I think he should be on the bench and getting the odd bit of action if he is injury free, that's why I'm asking for any inside info. He, like many of the others who were written off last year might just thrive in Brendan's team.

 

You a Commons fan or a Celtic fan? I'll trust Rodgers on this one. The fact Rodgers didn't even register Commons for the CL shows Rodgers clearly doesn't rate him.

Just because they didn't sell or loan him doesn't mean they didn't try. Derk only left a few months ago fucksake. We're paying Commons stupid money. He's not going to get that money anywhere else.
Anyway, maybe you should go to Celtic Park and tell Rodgers and Lawell how to do their job

Firstly I'm a Celtic fan and secondly a fan of Commons because he plays for my team.

64 goals in 147 games (not even playing as a striker) but yet completely forgotten and regarded as fat, lazy, greedy and surplus to requirements... * me. Stinks of Broony and Griffiths in here... look how that turned out. I've said my piece so no point in wasting my time. Sure we might find something to agree on in the forum but it sure as * won't be this.

 

I don't know how you can say that with any certainty. I'd say they are very comparible in running speed both with or without the ball. I would also be more inclined to think Commons might have more gas in the tank past 60-70 mins in a game. There is no reason he couldn't come on and contribute to this team about that stage in any game.

 

Rogic is more mobile, there's no doubt about it. He isn't particularly fast but he's a * sight quicker than Commons, who was always slow but he's painfully slow now.

I'd rather Christie came on than Commons. He still might have a future here, Commons certainly doesn't.

 

He's a million times a better footballer than McGregor, Armstrong and Bitton. enough said

 

Christie, really? Another Deila signing along with GMS, Scott Allan (remember him?) he's not good enough, Ciftci isn't good enough either.

 

"Another Deila signing"? What's that meant to suggest, that all of his signings were pish? Our first choice centre half pairing were both signed by Deila and have turned out not too bad.

Christie is still a way off being a first team player for us, but he's never had a run of games since joining. He should be loaned out if he's not going to get a real chance. I've seen enough from him to suggest that he can be a handy player.

Commons is done. Again, people need to accept it. He's slow as *, lazy, greedy, his passing/vision isn't good enough either. The best thing he had in his locker has always been that he has a rocket of a left foot, and even then his shooting was, by and large, rank last season.

I agree with you here. Commons could come on and contribute to the team, but his problem now is that he is severely lacking any match sharpness. Has he even had a run out for the development side recently?

 

No at all, not all of them but look at the facts. most of them were pish.

He's done? and what is your evidence to back that up? because Brendan won't give him a game?

 

Based on what I saw of him in the league last season. He was pish.

The fact that he isn't anywhere near the squad and he's been fit for some time also sort of suggests that he isn't up to it.

 

How can they be a myth when he's never played a full game?

 

The league last season? he hardly played after he rightly ripped into Deila publicly when he was subbed in an embarrassing defeat against some Scandinavian pish in the Europa league.

And what suggests Armstrong is? he gets one shot in every twenty on target.

Oh and by the way, if that * Deila played him against Sevco in the cup game we wouldn't have lost

 

Look at what Rodgers has done so far mate. The team that beat Aberdeen WITH EASE 3-0 had 10 players signed by Lenny and Ronny, only new player for the final was Moussa Dembele. I would like to have seen Commons get a few outings, but it's VERY CLEAR our new Manager has told Commons from day 1, same as he did with Mulgrew and many others "Sorry, I need to make this whole team better, you won't play" It's never nice to say goodbye to ANY Celtic man who gave us good moments. But we can't complain we are unbeaten in Scotland in all games so far and in game 5 were still in with a chance of European Football after Christmas. Whatever Rodgers has done to these players is nothing short of a miracle buddy. This is not his team, he never signed most of them, yet look at them play these days. There were stories a few players were disrespecting Ronny (Right or wrong) and if Rodgers heard this coming in the door, we now have a manager who will make the hard decisions. We can't complain about ANYTHING Rodgers has done as he is slowly learning what it is to manage Celtic.

Commons is going to Hibs in January. He got his 2 year last deal from the club, against the club and Ronny's wishes mostly because of fan and media pressure. We need to move on, and we are. Would love Commons to get the last 10 minutes of a game to say goodbye...But this is not a game for the heavy hearted like this, or in this way. Ruthless and hard. We don't pay Rodgers to be nice, we pay him to be ruthless. He told Commons the score from Day 1. Commons decision to stay, but he has had a back injury for a long time now. He can go and help Hibs win the Championship with Lenny...And if that happens, I am behind them both

 

He's played a full game on a few occasions this season. That's a fact.
