It's not that I dont like him, I appreciate what he's done for Celtic but I wont remember him as fondly as others.

That's on Deila though. He could & should have used that incident as an opportunity to lay down a marker, but he chose not to.

I don't understand how you could dislike a player that has offered as much to the club as Commons has.

Possibly mate but look at our own job's. How many time's have you lost the plot with your gaffer or that? It's why I now work myself because some dope is constantly waffling and doesn't have a clue, and you bite big time...Which is what Commons did that night. Is it the done thing usually? No, but I'd say the way and expectations of where we were heading, weren't the usual for our club, and supporters either..

You can only imagine the * Ronny got behind closed door's as well. Do I like hearing that and feel for him? No and yes, but I can imagine sitting in that dressing room and going daft as a Celtic supporting player..

No even kidding mate that's why I currently don't have a job:56: Constantly arguing with the guy I was working with, no really my boss but he ran the squad.

Stuff like that should be kept in house though Imo, maybe I'm a hypocrite since I was going to throw the * off a scaffolding and I'm more like Commons than I think:56:

See what I mean, similar personality clash..

I've done it myself, offering the ganger man out, and having rows with people on most site's and job's I've been on. Maybe it's me that's the problem though, and isn't helping my Commons argument haha..

Seriously though, it isn't the done thing, but Ronny was utterly clueless that night and many time's before and after that and something had to be said. It just so happened to be heat of the moment and for all to see..

Wasn't even training with the rest of the players who weren't on International duty today, doubt very much Commons will ever make an appearance for us again.

Kris Commons’ hopes of playing for Celtic again look slim, with manager Brendan Rodgers admitting the way he likes his team to play may not suit the skilful playmaker.

Commons, 33, has been an outstanding player for Celtic since signing from Derby County in January 2011. He has helped the Parkhead club win five league titles, averaging almost a goal every two games during that period.

However, with Rodgers building his side around the pace and power of new players such as Scott Sinclair and Moussa Dembele, it appears Commons’ days at Celtic are numbered.

“I spoke to Kris in the first week I was here,” said Rodgers. “He knew clearly what my plan was for the team going forward. He’s a good guy, I like him. It’s been tough.

“I’ve brought in players who play in a slightly different way to how he’s played before. There’s no doubting his qualities and what he’s shown over two, three, four years. But it’s a different team playing in a different way. But he trains hard every day, he’s doing his best to fight and work.”

Commons is out of contract next summer and may now move in January.

Rodgers added: “I said to all the players in the summer, to every player where there was maybe a doubt that they were going to play, I spoke to them about that. But it’s hard to leave a club like Celtic, especially if you’re enjoying training and enjoying the work, and enjoying how everything’s going. But everyone here in the squad is very clear, they’ve known where they stand since the first week I was in here.

“All I’ve ever said is ‘if you’re not playing or you’re not in the plans, just respect the work’ and I’ve never had an issue with any of them, not one.

“They know they’re improving to be the best they can be and if it’s not going to be here, they’re getting a level of work that’ll help them get games if and when they leave here.”

He's been a great servant to the club. His time is now up though. Not in the managers plans so I think we've seen the last of him

One of my favourite players of the last few years, but it's obvious he does not fit into the style of play the manager wants to implement.

Hope he doesn't drop down too much a level before he retires. He's still got a lot to offer if he can get match fit.

It would be nice if he could get a sub appearance before he leaves. Give the fans a chance to say thank you and goodbye.

He should leave in January before he starts to stagnate and decline. Been a brilliant player for us, I have nothing but fond memories of him.

He is also fairly settled with his family here and his next contract will probably be his last, along with being on less money than he's on now. So it's no surprise that he said in the summer he wasn't going to entertain a move until January at the earliest.

It's his time to go, no doubt, but it'll hurt me forever that he got so close to 100 goals for us an never got a chance to finish. He's one of my all time favorites.

Would make a good addition to coaching staff but cant see him playing for us again.
Plenty of clubs will take him,, my immediate thought is Hibs but if he wants cash then
i am sure he will find club down south.

Good player, decent family man and wish him all the best for the future

As he has gotten older he has slowed down as we all do and i thought there wouldnt be a place in this team for him but our build up play is not really that fast,so many passes across the defence as we look for an opening i think commons would be fine.
but as others have said he aint going to get any game time unless some injuries pile up in midfield.

Aye it's a pity he was never going to feature in Brendan's plans considering how much he did for the team previously. I really hope he moves to a decent team because even at 33 his style and experience means he could bring a lot of midfield influence to a team. I don't think speed was ever his big thing so that shouldn't matter so much. He has great vision though.

As said above it would've been nice to see him make an appearance off the bench so the fans could say thanks and goodbye but I have a feeling the games are just too important for Brendan to be contemplating putting out anything other than our strongest team.

Wish him all the best too, thanks for the goals and the memories Kris.

Think if he moves to a reasonably competitive team in a decent league he won't last much longer.
There are reasons he doesn't feature for us under Brendan now. And even so under diela.
And those reasons will still stand at other half decent clubs that we would all like to see him at.
Think he will need to drop down to another spfl team(top tier) or league 1 to be able to have some influence and play regularly.

Can't see a championship team taking him on and him being a starter or influencing the team.

He doesn't do much (if any) defensive work, which even for the most attacking minded playmakers, they need to be able to fall back and be a part of a middle 3 (or 5) when the time comes. Commons simply can't do that. He just isn't that sort of player. And thus he won't get a game for us. Rogic is borderline for that as well, but his energy and presence allows him to fall back in to a middle 3 and at least be able to win the ball back some times.
