Different system and against much shiter teams. Like I said before, he may well play a part but only if we had an absolute injury wise. If our top players stay fit then he shouldn't be near the team

I get the "no longer fit for the way BR wants him to play thing" but he seems to have been off the scene for quite a long time now and I wondered if at some point he really stepped out of line in some way?

People trying to shoe horn a player into the team again who clearly doesn't suit the way Brendan wants to play.

Guys an excellent player, everybody wants someone to run fast in this team. Maybe we shoulda kept Janko then and why not just bring in Efe while we're at it, as he'd beat everyone of our CB's running with one leg.

If he's finished based on the last couple of seasons then heaven help us, in 5 European games last year he scored 4 goals and set up 2, lol.

If he's finished then at least he lasted till he was 33, Scott Brown is 31, and * knows how old Bitton and Mcgregor are then, lol.

It does seem a bit harsh to him, but I guess it just comes down to whether you trust the manager or not. I tend to trust Rodgers.

Mr Monaghan gave a good example, Hart is obviously still a top keeper, but he can't play the Guardiola way, so off he goes (same thing seems to be happening with Gordon here!). Similarly Commons is unlikely to have lost it over the summer; but if Rodgers doesn't think he has the legs to play his way, well...

Sad for the guy, he's been a great servant for Celtic. Like Mulgrew, I'm sure he can still do a great job for someone in the English Championship.

    Edited as originally said Minty.

the way I see it,Rodgers gives everyone a chance.if you blow it you're history.efe.janko.Gordon.-we've all seen the errors.some do it more than others.brendan might just have that ruthless streak that we need to filter out the inadequate.commons will get a chance.see what happens next

Go to Hibs in January. Sign a 2.5 year deal and go from there. 1.5 years as a player and the final year player-coach. Even if this was a loan move where he could retire a Celtic player that'd be ideal. Still think he's a solid player and can really contribute, just needs to be given the chance.

He's done with Celtic, unless we get a number of injuries. People need to accept it.

Ronny was weak around the deal should have stuck to his guns and gave him the year he knew he was worth..

I agree but Ronny was also at the stage where he couldn't really risk upsetting the fans anymore
I like Commons but I'd hate to see him wasting his final few seasons on the bench or in the stands
If the offer is there to join Lenny at Hibs either on loan or permanent then it needs to be accepted

I know mate there was huge pressure on Ronny at that time.. He knew that Commons didn't fit into most forward thinking managers ethos.. And when he gave into Commons and the fans demands the writing was on the wall for him..

Rogic is quite a bit faster IMO.

Surprised there is so much debate about it. Commons is clearly finished at celtic. Good player in his time but his time is up.

Really? Rogic is far more mobile and skillful for me.

Commons of past maybe but not now.

could still pull the strings with others doing the donkey work in some games, but he is the type of midfielder we are missing at the moment

    He can't pull the strings.
He is a luxury player that unfortunately has passed his time here now. Provides no defensive cover and becomes a man down when teams attack us. Forrest, sinclair, rogic, roberts all offer more these days.

Not really, not as fit either. He's gubbed around the 60 minute mark. Quite slow, likes dropping into space, doesn't really press the game. Goal threat and creative as * though.

Aye, really. Rogic is * gubbed after an hour and barely moves. Don't think there's much difference in terms of pace and defensive work. Both goal threats and creative. Also two of my favourite players at the club.
