I think you're right, doesn't even make the bench.

It's a shame cause I reckon he could still chip in with a goal or two and he's only 9 goals away from 100...

 

the guy seems to spend more time injured than anything else.....dont see him getting many games under BR.

 

It's a shame because he is quite experienced in Europe. I'd say he's injured because Brendan would have at least gave him a go in the Development Squad before making a decision.

 

Guys not kicked a ball all pre-season. Don't think it's signals anything other than he's not fit, so makes sense to put someone in who might have a chance of playing. Few jumping the gun I think.

 

Other than him not being fit I don't think he really fits in Rodgers style.

 

Been a great servant to us over the years. I think he'll stay in Scottish football maybe coaching or media.

 

If he keeps himself fit and injury free i think he could make a great impact player from the bench. We all know he can score goals and do the damage.

 

dont see him getting much if any game time, the guy suits a possesion game where he can introduce a bit of magic, but the running around game and high pressing which ronnie said he was introducing and which brendan is going to introduce doesnt suit his style.

Definitely not, you need the right players and formation for it work with Commons like the diamond Lenny played. Not got the legs and never had the work rate for under Rodgers.

 

He was commentating on the astana away leg on celtic tv. He said he hoped to play against Barcelona in Dublin, that obviously never happened. Was good hearing him cheering when we scored , has a lot of passion for our club

 

I think Commons probably on his way out. Probably has something lined up or something. Otherwise I cannot see why he hasn't featured at all this season. Fitness is not the issue here, since nobody was really fit in our Slovenia pre-season trip. The fact he has not even appeared in these 45 min friendlies and even against Barcelona, we saw development players coming on instead of Commons. Think his time is up here, not sure if he has fallen out with Rodgers or simply because Rodgers has his name down as one to ship out.

On another note, seems Rodgers left one place open for the playoff squad. Could be expecting a new signing soon then?

If he can get himself fit then he'd be a good back up for Sinclair on the left

 

He's far too slow to be put out wide. In fact I think that might be his downfall regarding his future here; he's too slow and doesn't press enough to begin with to be able to play in Rodgers' system. I would keep him around as a bench option, as he's still more than capable of getting us goals. Guys like Forrest-McGregor-Henderson-and Commons would be great to have on the bench if we can get in a box-box midfielder and a solid DM.

 

Should def keep him as a squad player/coach
