I think Commons is the exact opposite if I'm honest. I think he has to be starting games regularly to make a big impact. He loses match sharpness quickly if he isn't playing regular football in my opinion.

 

Off the top of my head from last season Qarabag, came on for ten minutes set up the only goal of the tie and coming on against Fenerbache (I think?) and scoring a diving header.

He's definitely capable.

 

Commons does have the technique and shooting ability to be able to work as an impact sub for us, although I'd be more than happy to have him starting games in the SPL.

I can understand why he isn't entertaining a move until at least January too, his family are settled and he'll likely have to take a pay cut to leave Celtic, so why would you leave when you have a year left?

Hopefully he recovers from his back surgery well and goes on to be a useful player for us this season, even if I do think the time is right to move him on.

 

Could he be crucial for us in these qualifiers? He knows the score and can still do it at this level as the EL showed last season. I think he may still have a place behind the strikers for one more season at least, especially if Rogic moves on.

 

I think at this point in his career he'd be a perfect impact sub.

 

He'd at least have passed the ball forward at some point last night or had a shot or 8. Not saying he's the answer though

Yep, he's always worth a goal or two as well! Scores a lot in Europe and the big games.
