Listen. Commons has been one of the best bit's of business we've ever made. A player who has dragged us through game's, scored some absolute beastly goals, and plenty of worldys. Been a big player in the dressing room and get's this club, and the support..

But......the time is right, we are moving on. I personally think Commons doesn't have that impact on our first team, and the legs have completely gone. He's had his day, but now we've got some real talent who need to have there's. I'll always be thankful for his time here and what he's contributed to us, but I can't keep listening to how he's our best player still and how he'd come back to haunt us. Neither are true in the slightest for me..

I'm at the stage where I hope he does move on, as it's best for all parties, and a few other's will be going with him..

If he stays(Which I hope he does)then he could easily challenge for his preferred role behind the striker(If he puts the work in Brendans after).

Rogic has got that shirt for me atm but if he was to have a dip in form or injury occurred then the next player I'd look to fill that position out of our options currently would be Commons. Europe last year showed he can still cut the mustard at a high level for us, was creating and scoring goals every game at that level in one of the worst ever Celtic sides to be competing in Europe.

I don't want to admit that the time is right for both parties to move, but it's probably true.

Lennon showed that if you build a team around him, he'll deliver. Deila showed that he can't work within the type of style Rodgers will be looking for.

Bang on the money. He has been a great signing for us, and in terms of value for money, there hasn't been many better, but it's time to move on I feel also.

I'd agree that the time is right for him to move on. Would free up some wages as well as prevent hanging on to him for too long, like we've done with some other players who have declined massively.

As good as he is, I'm worried he's a player with too much sway in the dressing room, but not enough ability, or at least physical ability, to perform week in week out under a BR setup. If he's not playing i think it just breeds a negative vibe which can upset the overall team morale. Think that was a big part in Deila's downfall - the team had split allegiances between him and the elder statesmen within the squad - and as soon as they fell out...crash, whole thing went to pot.

The time is right for Commons to move on. Still got a lot to offer teams, just not as much to us.

One thing that makes me less worried about losing Commons, is the progress of Rogic.

Despite him hanging off on signing a new contract?

One thing I'm worried about is Commons impact in Europe, if he goes on, who else will stand up to be counted?

I'm hoping that we will be a completely different proposition in Europe throughout the whole team compared to last season.

I've found no matter who the manager is we always need somebody with the mentality to do it at the higher level, obviously O'Neill's team was littered with them. Sutton, Thommo and of course the King of Kings. WGS's had the likes of JVoH delivering big goals, Lenny with Sammy and the last couple lf years Commons is the biggest threat.

At the highest level it's mentality and we will need others to stand up and be counted at that level, to be the difference between just a good performance and a winning performance.

I'm quite happy for Commons to leave. He's been a good servant but I'd much rather see Rogic or Christie in the team

PLAYMAKER set to leave Neil Lennon disappointed as he sets about proving he can fit into the system the new Hoops boss wants to play.

KRIS COMMONS will resist the chance to join Neil Lennon at Hibs - and fight for his place at Celtic.

The Hoops playmaker has been linked with a loan move to Easter Road to link up with his old Parkhead gaffer.

Lenny would love to have the 32-year-old on board for the Championship promotion push.

But Record Sport understands Commons has insisted there is no way he is going to leave as he is determined to force his way in to the plans of new boss Brendan Rodgers.

The attacker is currently recovering from back surgery but is expected to return to training next week.

The Champions League qualifiers against either Tallinn or Lincoln Red Imps will come around too soon.

But Commons has his heart set on staying at Celtic Park and trying to win a place in the side this season.

The former Scotland man has one year left on his contract and has told the club he’s not going to entertain a move until at least January.

Rodgers has left the door open for Commons to stake his claim and said: “At the minute Kris is injured.

“For Kris or any player they have to be able to play how I want to work.

“They have to be able to run. They have to be able to press. They have to be aggressive. They have to be able to touch and get up to people.

“Celtic are used to having the ball of course but you have to get the ball back.

“The possibility is open to every player. But at this moment in time Kris is just worrying about getting fit. And then – we will see where he is at.”

Reports in Israel suggested a £6m bid had been being slapped in but Record Sport understands there has been no formal offer as yet.

Bitton penned a new five-year deal last season and the club have little desire to cash in on one of their key men

Meanwhile new Bhoy Moussa Dembele is set to be let loose against Ljubljana tomorrow night as the manager edged closer to the qualifiers.

The former Fulham star jetted in to Slovenia last week following his £500,000 switch but wasn’t risked in Sunday’s friendly 1-0 win against Sturm Graz.

The 19-year-old has been doing double sessions to get up to speed with the rest of the Celtic squad and is ready to be unleashed against the surprise Slovenian champions.

Rodgers said: “Moussa will feature on Wednesday night.

“He has only just linked with us and you have to give him a few days, otherwise there is a high risk of injury.

“He will play some part on Wednesday.”

Rodgers have played experimental sides in Slovenia so far with most players playing 45 minutes of each of the clashes with NK Celje and Sturm Graz.

But the boss is looking to start shaping his team for next week and is set to send out a strong side.

Commons has been an excellent player for us but I think and I hope that this is new era starting for us and would like to say a vast majority of the current crop of players phased out sooner rather than later.

Don't know how to bold but the most interesting/telling part of this piece is..... "they have to be able to run. They have to be able to press. They have to be aggressive. They have to be able to touch and get up to people"

Think that safely rules the Commons of today out of all of those. I'm certain he'll be moved on even more after reading that..

Last year of his contract, if he wants to stay and fight for his place, then why not?

On his day he is more dangerous than any of our players.

It's imperative the blend of young talent and experience is maintained within in the squad and there's others I'd move on first.

Commons loves the club and has class, proved it time again, with the right level of application could still be a big player for us.

He'll be on a decent wage, suits to get him off the wage bill when he literally offers * all to us moving forward and will hardly get a look in this season anyway.

Would not to be quick in pushing commons out the door, the guys record speaks for itself. I understand he might not fit Rodgers style, but when things ain't working commons is the type of player that could come off the bench and change a game for us. There's plenty of players we need out the door first. Experienced head in the dressing room as well. The people that want Commons out for the what happened against Malmo are clowns. The guy let he's emotions get the better a him on a night of complete embarrassment for the club, In the heat a the moment anybody could a reacted like that.
