Just spent ages looking up classic commons goals, christ remember he signed he wouldnt let a match pass without trying and most of the time suceeding with a long range screamer

If we're going to play him, he needs to play right up with the striker. It's a waste of time playing him out wide.

Had a poor game today, but still drifted into some good goalscoring positions.

He's always taken 4/5 games to get back to his best after injury. He's getting in the right places, he'll click again.

He annoys the life outta me sometimes. So slow at time's on the ball. Twists and turns like an elephant..

He's always been a guy who needs to play regularly to stay sharp. A lot like Rooney. I still think it's a huge waste sticking him wide when he's so effective around the penalty area.

Pitch didn't help him at times today, either.

I don't mind it if it's a proper 433 like today, he was getting in the middle often and thats where he's at his best. Relies a lot on Lustig thouh, who looks absolutely * shattered.

I get that he's not bang up to speed but it's been noticeable for a while now in my opinion, that he slows down a lot of our quick play and dallies on the ball trying to instinctively make room for shot's that aren't on..

Still an important squad member who has the capability of match winning and has experience, but I'm noticing the end, I think maybe not too far off..

    Playing him wide is madness..

That's it. When he drifts in, Lustig has to overlap which he looks less capable of doing as the season goes on. I'd be tempted to start Ambrose there next week and make sure Lustig is fresh for the semi-final.

Hopefully Janko can come back into it. Played for the development the other day.

Couple of people have mentioned the state of the pitch today. That must have been an advert for plastic pitches if ever I saw one. When the camera showed the beach end of Firhill today it looked a complete joke.

Can't disagree with any of that.

Definitely a positive, but I'd still be looking to Lustig (and Commons) for our big matches before the end of the year.

I thought Commons showed some signs of his creative ability. That move early on involving McGregor, Commons and Griffiths was brilliant. Then there was another set up for Griffiths but the shot was blocked.

I would like to see him, McGregor and Roberts playing as I think they are on a similar wavelength.

Definitely but resting Lustig will help. Mind Lenny used to take him off 70 minutes or so and then give Matthews a game sometimes? That's how you get him at his best, cracking player but his bodies not up to much.

Yeah, he needs to be carefully managed. I'm glad he's had such a good injury-free run, but I'm getting concerned that we're pushing it now. He overlapped at one point in the 2nd half and was visibly shattered.

Aye that's true and full back is probably the most intensive position to play stamina wise.

Will be good to see Janko back cause the few games we seen him he looked very promising.

Yeah Ronny done that as well when we had Matthews and feeding in Janko. Very surprised he's not been injured with all the games he's played.
The lack of pace and movement with Commons and Lustig clearly doesn't hasn't worked ever really, makes us very one sided. Really need Janko overlapping all the time so Commons has space to go inside and not being doubled up on.
