I'm sorry but he really doesn't offer much to the team these days, pops up with a goal every now and then. I would sell him now while there is any kind of value on him, definitely would not renew his contract

Except the fact he set up or scored near every single goal in Europe this season?

That is not a Commons problem if our manager is weak.

All total nonsense. Offers goals and assists in most games and was involved in the vast majority of our european goals this year. I remember reading he created more chances than any other player in the whole europa league group stage .

His all round game is wildly underrated on here aswell. Makes clever little runs and finds pockets of space as good as anyone. We are a much better side when he is on the pitch .

He was, literally, involved in every single goal in Europe this season, assisting and scoring them. There is absolutely no doubt of his talent and more importantly his desire to play for the team. Every club needs older heads with that kind of mentality around the place. I think it's safe to say he wants to see his career out here and we would be stupid to not give him the chance to do that. It's not just purely what goes on on the pitch that is important but off it, in training/dressing room too. We should be showing all the players that we take care of players like Kris who give everything and love the club like he does. No question he deserves to see his career out here. You are guaranteed he will give you everything till he hangs his boots up and that is priceless. :shamrock:

We have seen a similar situation with Stokes, and the manager has sorted that by sending him out on loan. Yet, you have moaned about that and said he is weak for that also.

Yeah. I dont think a better manager would have found himself being rag dolled like deila. From day 1 his balls were cut off when JC was hired. Maybe you should turn your attention to why we have a manager who repeatedly shows weakness instead of shooting the messenger?

The way he has dealt with your BFF Stokes proves he is anything but a weak Manager.

He gave Stokes plenty of chances because he believed he was good enough. Stokes' decline is his own fault, not the managers.

A weak manager would have kept Stokes, and simply put up with his baggage. Deila has clearly said enough is enough, and wants him to sort himself out. The door has still been left open for a return, and rightly so, but sending him out on loan was the best thing for both parties.

I still see the results of a man who is not fully in control with the Stokes situation. Let's be clear Deila wants him gone full stop and he ended up going on loan. Shrewd by Pete as Deila is on thin ice if yas know what I mean.

He couldn't be more in control of the Stokes situation if he tried.

You have an overinflated sense of Stokes' worth to Celtic, if there was no chance of him ever playing for Celtic again and the relationship had completely broke down he'd be oot the door but he's stated publically the ball is in Stokes' court as far as his Celtic career is concerned.

Nice goal by the old boy on Friday.

As for comparing Commons behaviour to Stokes', that's nonsensical. Stokes' behaviour issues were all created off field. Commons' behaviour relates to complaining about being subbed off, nothing to do with how hard he was training or going out and getting bevvied/disregarding club instructions. I doubt many managers mind a senior pro being * off about being subbed TBH.

Wouldn't surprise me if Commons is injured. He'll be getting a lot more niggling knocks these days considering he's getting older.

Commons was on CelticTV at half time and said himself he was injured. I think he said it was his hamstring but he felt he'd be back for next weekend.
