He's our second top scorer and most creative player this season, he was our second top scorer and 2nd most creative player last year.

Despite missing the start of the season for both seasons.

The year prior to last season was his 32 goal season, setting up 14.

What part are we living in the past here?

Yes ignore the part about you lying and ignore the point I was making about him not working through the middle. That start of the season he missed last year? This point you've already been proven wrong in? Lies again.

I've only ever said he doesn't work through the middle in this formation, which he clearly doesn't, I've never once disputed his stats but cheers for bringing them up again I must have missed them every them reading through every other one of your posts about Commons.

I answered that post? Asked where you got your stats from, I got mines from ESPN and I can remember him playing up front himself against Legia Warsaw which was ridiculously stupid.

Well, how about the weekend then? 2 goals from behind the striker?

No problem, be sure to pay more careful attention next time :50:

I only saw the last half hour, but 3 games in 6 days is a fair bit to ask from a 32 year old, especially when fitness has probably never been one of his strengths.

Using a below par performance tonight as justification for him not being able to play a certain position is a bit sad I think, considering he scored 3 goals in our last 2 games.

Which I answered and told you he played upfront after Ambrose was sent off and we were down to 10 men... his two goals from the weekend came from set pieces and not from open play.

Be sure to pay more careful attention next time.

I like Commons overall as a player but he is quite greedy and that frustrates me sometimes.

Where do people get the idea I'm using this based on one performance, he's played that role well for us in 2 seasons - the 6-1 Dundee utd game every other time he's played there he was been woeful.

It is no measure of health to be well adjusted to a sick society. Saying as I have to listen to opinions such as Kris Commons is not good enough to be played in the 10 position I think I am doing grand. I am not even going to debate this with you. Its an insult to Commons and I wont be a part of it.

If Commons played as a striker he'd score goal, guy is a class act we very nearly lost him until the club seen sense

Was pretty poor and frustrating tonight, and he is liable to be like that, but he's still a very good player for us. I do think some people do go overboard about how good he is though. Tonight happens more than they let on.

Still played out of position, yes? Where did you get your sats from?

    I don't need to.

Commons still scored two goals and played well all round :50:

I didn't see that. In fact, I thought he was one of our worst players first half on Sunday. I think with what happened last Thursday, any half decent performance was going to be exaggerated by a lot of the support. That's all it was though, a half decent performance, mainly because he got two goals. His all round play I couldn't disagree more with you however.

I disagree with your disagreement. Thought he done the same thing as Rogic done last night, allowed us to play through the middle, picked up the right positions and moved the ball quickly in the final 3rd. Scored 2 goals into the bargain.

Rogic's performance last night, and the Commons one on Sunday are not similar at all I don't think. If Rogic can begin to add goals regularly to his game, I think he is a better option than Commons. Whether he can, remains to be seen of course, but the signs are there this season. It seems to be like the Bitton argument all over again. I remember there were a lot on here who weren't convinced he could make the step up, and now he is a vital part in the team. I think Rogic could do the exact same.

I agree with the Rogic part completely. I think last night he greatly benefitted that he came on when the game was starting to get stretched though and he exploited it well.

Prior to that I counted one early ball in to the players up top, the time they got it early into Commons and the Forrest set up Armstrong for his sitter. Before that we weren't moving the ball quickly up field.

I think all the midfielders have to take responsibility for moving it quicker though. We looked a lot sharper when Rogic come on I felt, and we started to play some good football. I'm not in any way saying that was purely down to Rogic coming on, but he did play a big part in it. Can't help but think if it had been Commons that come on last night and put in the exact same performance as Rogic, there would be plenty on here giving Deila pelters.

He was * dung last night. Rogic deserves to start our next game in the number 10 role.

Mind last season when Scepovic was the in fashion choice over Griff by people on this forum. Call for Rogic to play ahead of Commons all you like. The people doing so are wrong though. Not only is Commons a superior player to Rogic he is also far more effective. Rogic has come in and done well in rotation and this is how it should stay. We have an opening to give our second best player a run of games in his natural position and we should take it.
